Overwatch events are a time for players to celebrate specific seasons and play special modes, but seeing what skins come to the game has proven to be equally exciting. The latest Lunar New Year event in Overwatch is continuing the tradition of great cosmetics, and Orisa is one of the characters to benefit from it.
Earlier this week, Blizzard revealed Ashe’s Tiger Huntress skin, with the costume giving the hero a wildly different look to what she has now. With a tied-back hairstyle and a special hat, as well as a redesign of Bob that makes him look like a mechanical tiger, the skin should prove popular with the damage hero’s fans. However, Blizzard has shown some love to a heavily played Tank hero as well, with Orisa’s new skin giving Ashe some major competition.
For this year’s take on Lunar New Year, Efi’s strong and lovable creation is being given an extremely intimidating redesign. Bull-Demon Orisa looks how she sounds, with a video highlighting the skin released earlier today. Showcasing quite the transformation, Orisa keeps all of her core design features, though all have been changed significantly. Not only does the hero have white fur in this skin, but her horns have been redesigned to match those of a bull, and her Fusion Driver has been given a matching paint job.
Other significant changes see Orisa getting a nose ring and adopting slits for eyes that make the robot look more terrifying than friendly. Demon faces are added to her skin as accents, while text can be seen on a banner between Orisa’s legs. One excellent touch sees blue energy coming from Orisa’s neck, adding to the feeling that this version of the character is more demonic. Fortunately, players will not need to worry about Orisa getting a terrifying rework along with this skin, as the hero will be playing like she has been for the past few months.
The great news for Orisa fans and those excited to see the rest of the content in the event is that the wait is almost over. Overwatch’s Year of the Ox event goes live later today, giving players access to all the new goodies — as well as the items from past Lunar New Year events. As with other Legendary event skins, players can pull the skin from lootboxes or buy Orisa outright for 3,000 Credits. With the event running until February 25, those maining the hero should have plenty of time to snag her new skin.
Joining Kkachi Echo and Tiger Huntress Ashe as this year’s coolest cosmetics, players should enjoy showing off the stylish Bull-Demon skin in their Overwatch matches. With Capture the Flag likely making a return as well, there should be no shortage of chances for players to wreak havoc as this special version of Orisa.
