A hotfix is now available for Cyberpunk 2077 on PC.
Hotfix 1.12 fixes a vulnerability in Cyberpunk 2077 that could be used as part of remote execution, including save files.
It fixed a buffer overrun issue and removed/replaced non-ASLR DLLs.
The fix basically applies to the use of mods/custom saves on PC. CDP became aware of a vulnerability in external DLL files the game uses which can be used to execute code on PCs. Until a fix was issued, it suggested folks refrain from using files from unknown sources.
CDP was reached out to by a group of community members that found the issue could result in remote code execution on PCs.
The first big patch for the game was released a couple of weeks ago and focused on stability improvements and various fixes. Unfortunately, it also introduced a major game-breaking bug. A fix for this issue was released on January 28.
If you are just picking the game up or need a bit of help, our Cyberpunk 2077 guides are here to lend a hydraulic hand.
