Warzone: Ranking The Best SMGs After The MAC-10 Nerf | Game Rant

After the initial MAC-10 nerf, players have been experimenting with the other SMGs in Warzone to find the next best secondary. The MAC-10 nerf was enough for players to consider using other weapons at close ranges, and most of the SMGs in the game are now viable.

Raven was responsive to criticism and quickly balanced the meta in Warzone. Players can finally use several underrated loadouts, and there are a few new SMGs that are top tier guns. Below are all of the SMGs in the game ranked from worst to best.

The Milano has been a ground loot weapon for the past month, and players can have some success using it in the beginning of the game due to its amazing recoil. However, it has one of the slowest times to kill in the game, and players will lose to almost every SMG even if they hit all their shots.

The KSP is the only three round burst SMG in Warzone. It has moderate recoil and a slow fire rate due to its burst fire. Players can get kills with the KSP if they hit their shots, but the weapon is ineffective if players miss just one of the three bullets in each burst. Players are better off staying away from the KSP in Warzone.

The stock striker has a slow fire rate, considerable recoil, and low damage values. The single shot hollow point rounds are very good, but players will struggle with only 12 rounds in a clip. Players should try hollow point Striker in solos, but in squads the gun is not viable.

Similar to the Striker, the ISO does not have a good enough time to kill. Even after Raven’s buff to the weapon, it is still in he bottom tier. The ISO has decent iron sights and is easy enough to use, but it is just not competitive with the best guns in the game.

Unfortunately, the AK-74 is not a very good gun in Warzone. The weapon’s moderate recoil and low damage values mean that it will lose to almost every SMG below. Players are hopeful for a buff to the AK-74 and the other Cold War SMGs.

In Warzone’s current state, the P90 is a viable weapon for close quarters engagements. The P90 has considerable recoil and should not be used beyond 20 meters.

Players that can master its recoil will be pleasantly surprised by how good the gun performs up close. In a point blank gunfight, the P90 is serviceable, and can out challenge the best SMGs in the game.

The AUG was touted as one of the best multiplayer guns in Modern Warfare early in the life cycle of the game. While it is a good weapon, the AUG has several disadvantages that make it a middle of the pack SMG. The Aug has rough iron sights and ammo capacity issues. Players can use the 32 round magazine or the 60 round drum magazine. The AUG’s 32 round magazine is too small, and the drum mag makes the gun too slow and immobile.

Many players avoid using the Bizon because it does not have a great theoretical time to kill. However, it has one of the best recoil patterns of all the SMGs and the players can equip an 84 round magazine on the gun. In gunfights with multiple enemies, the Bizon will shine if players can mix in a few headshots.

The Fennec fires bullets an an incredible rate, and it has one of the best times to kill of all the SMGs in Warzone. Unfortunately, the Fennec’s max ammo capacity is 30 rounds.

Players can use the Fennec in solos and duos, but will be put in tough situations in squads. The Fennec also has considerable recoil, and it is ineffective at range. The Fennec is definitely usable, and players will not be sorry if they give it a try.

The base Uzi is not a very powerful weapon. In fact, the ground loot Uzi has a time to kill similar to the Milano at the bottom of the list. If players use the FSS Carbine Pro barrel and the .41 AE rounds, the Uzi becomes one of the best weapons in the game. Like the Fennec, the 32 round AE magazine is small, but the Uzi’s fire rate is much slower. Even with only 32 rounds, the Uzi is a viable weapon in all modes.

The MP7 has been a good weapon in Warzone since the game’s launch. In extremely confined spaces, the MP7 will struggle against the four SMGs below. The MP7 really shines at medium to long range, however, and its time to kill is comparable to the Kilo and Grau at range. The weapon is by far the most versatile of all the SMGs, and players can take advantage of the unique gun by pairing it with a sniper. By adding an optic such as the VLK to the MP7, players can use it like a medium range assault rifle.

The Bullfrog was ranked as one of the worst Cold War weapons after the integration. The weapon’s assumed time to kill did not appear to be good enough to compete with the MP5s and the MAC-10. After some testing, the Bullfrog is the sleeper pick for the best SMG in the game. While the weapons below have a better theoretical time to kill, the Bullfrog has essentially no recoil and is much easier to control. As a result, the weapon’s theoretical time to kill is close to its actual time to kill. If the MAC-10 or one of the MP5s get nerfed in the near future, expect the Bullfrog to be the next SMG in line.

The Cold War MP5 is just as good as the old MP5 and the MAC-10. In terms of damage ranges and time to kill, all three of the remaining weapons are extraordinarily similar. The Cold War MP5 actually has better range values than the Modern Warfare MP5. Nonetheless, there are several reasons why the Cold War MP5 is ranked third and not first. The Cold War MP5 has significantly slower aim down sight time and worse hip fire spread. For players that plan to use the gun at point blank and medium range, the Modern Warfare MP5 is more straightforward to use

The MAC-10 and MP5s are meta weapons, and each has slight advantages and disadvantages. The only reason the MAC-10 is not at the top of the list is hip fire spread. The MAC-10 is not very good from the hip, even with the GRU 5mw laser. Regardless, players that can consistently hit chest and head shots will down enemies faster than the Modern Warfare MP5, which is still the best SMG in the game for the reasons stated below.

Despite the fact that the Modern Warfare MP5 has a slightly slower time to kill, it is still the top SMG in the game. Up to 25 or so meters, the MP5 has impeccable damage values and is simple to control. The MP5 with the 5mw laser is incredible up close, and the gun gives players the luxury of missing a few shots and still winning a gunfight. For players of all skill levels, the MP5 is the total package at close range. The fact that the gun has been in the game since launch means that players are more comfortable with its recoil. Thankfully, because the gun is a Modern Warfare weapon, it does not have the reload glitch.
