Assassin’s Creed Valhalla offers a massive world for players to explore through the eyes of the Viking Eivor. Despite this, killing high priority targets is still a key element of the game and a trademark of the series. Of the many assassination quests in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Burning the Firebrand is one requiring a bunch of steps. Follow this guide to mark the Firebrand of the hitlist quickly.
To even gain access to this quest, players must first complete The Welcoming Party mission. This assignment is given to Eivor upon beginning a pledge contract with Jorvik, a territory hiding secret wealth. Once that is done, just head to the Archives of Jorvik and look around for a note in the back of the area. Found the edge of a table, the message will trigger a cutscene that starts the quest.
From here, head to the rectory and use Odin’s Sight to discover the points of interest. Focus on the house on the left side, and explore that area until finding the moveable cargo. Push it out of the way to reveal a window, and use the bow to shoot the lock on the door from the inside. Talk to the NPC here to find out about accessing the other main house for the mission. It has a vulnerable roof so just climb up there and shoot out the wood, opening up a way to drop down.
Once inside, Eivor will need to speak to the priest to continue the mission. Follow the character to the Bishop’s room and begin the investigation. Examine the burned books along with the cross and debris found in this area. Then check out the dead body and move it to reveal the letter hiding underneath. After the cutscene, players will need to escape the house by either sneaking past the guards or finishing them off in combat.
For the next portion of the quest, follow the objective marker until reaching the Minster building. Climb all the way up to access the structure, and then drop down through the various floors until hitting another cutscene. This is where Eivor will finally lay sights on Ingeborg, also known as the Firebrand. After completing it, finishing the mission is simply a matter of hunting down the target and using some pro tips to assassinate her.
Check the massive map and view the three markers that can potentially lead to the Firebrand’s location. After reaching the area, players will need to depend on their senses to actually find where she is hiding. Listen until hearing other characters refer to her as Ingeborg or the Firebrand, and then she is ready for assassination. Choose the method, and once she is dead make sure to confirm the kill. After this, just head back to Ljufvina to finally complete Burning the Firebrand.
