After launching last summer, the popular alternative battle royale Fall Guys continues to evolve in order to keep things fresh for players. In its third season, developer Mediatonic has managed to add new events to bolster its already robust lineup, while also offering new playlists, and seasonal content to unlock. Fall Guys has had no shortage of crossover events as well, featuring cosmetic outfits from plenty of iconic franchises like DOOM, Sonic the Hedgehog, Godzilla, and more.
However, in order to unlock these premium Fall Guys outfits, players need to earn crowns which can be earned either by advancing through the seasonal pass or being the last bean standing during an event. In order to help players farm more crowns, Mediatonic has activated a special event for this weekend. Players who manage to win a crown over the weekend will instantly earn another for free. For those who can rack up a victory they’ll quickly double their winnings.
Interested individuals will want to hop on this weekend, especially considering that most outfits require the top and bottom to be purchased separately. Outside of advancing through the seasonal pass, this double crown weekend will be the quickest way to create a stockpile for when the next big crossover is set to arrive. While unconfirmed, the latest rumor seems to point to Fortnite being the next big event to hit the game.
The promotion also comes at an opportune time as Mediatonic just released its big midseason update. According to the patch notes, Mediatonic has managed to eradicate a handful of bugs while also adding in the new Fall Feed, a live on-screen update of events that happen during a round. In addition, more than 40 game variations were added to existing rounds, a brand new round has been added, and the Godzilla, Sonic, and Goose Game costumes are made available in the regular store to purchase. Now appears to be a great time to use those newly earned crowns.
