Fornite on PS5 is finally living up to the expectations.

The PlayStation 5 debuted on November 12, and with it came a limited number of games that were truly PS5 products. Assassins Creed Valhalla, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and Godfall are three of the newer titles. Epic Games made sure its Battle Royal champion, Fortnitewould be ready for the launch of next-generation consoles. It debuted alongside those aforementioned games, but it has not been a perfect launch. A new update coming is changing that.

Fortnite has been on the PS5 for nearly three months. In that time period, Epic Games began a new season inside chapter 2. Partnerships with popular TV shows and movies began, such as The Mandalorian, The Terminator, and Predator. Even Twitch star TheGrefg got his own skin in the game. Cosmetic items and the battle pass are considered major aspects of the product, however, the game’s performance is also important.

On February 5, Epic Games tweeted out a new update that unveils a maintenance patch that targets the entire community, but highlights a big change for PS5 players. It released a stability patch that intends on addressing the low FPS counters on the next-gen console. Epic Games said those players will notice a decrease in texture on performance mode, but this will allow FPS to remain steady at the intended rate.

Fortnite’s last month has seen memorable glitches and bugs. Most-recently, the sand tunneling feature was just brought back after players found out it could make someone invisible after entering one of those tunnels. Coincidentally, this was not the only glitch causing invisibility in Fortnite. Predator’s ability to turn on a cloaking device allowed competitors to remain invisible until the player logged off, or the match ended.

Epic Games was on top of the sand tunneling bug, disabling it swiftly. Coming out with the PS5 stability patch is great news for the next-gen community, as the new line of consoles are built for high FPS counters and better performance than its predecessor. Fortnite was not the only title to receive a stability update. Spider Man: Miles Morales needed a maintenance path soon after its release.

Fortnite’s next big crossover could be unprecedented, even for Epic Games. Without a Super Bowl partnership this year, the latest rumor is tying Epic Games’ BR to another product in the same genre, Fall Guys. Judging by the report, it appears fans could see popular Fortnite references in Fall Guys, but not the other way around. Nothing is confirmed at this point, but it will be an interesting development to keep an eye on moving forward.

Fortnite is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
