Netflix is doing everyone a favor in 2021 and is releasing a multitude of highly-anticipated new and recurring series throughout the year. The upcoming, blood-churning Resident Evil series is only one of the many shows being released. Limited series, miniseries, and recurring shows of all genres will be guaranteed to keep you binging all year long.
Whether you’re a fan of horror, fantasy, mystery, comedy, or just anything with a big name actor, 2021 is surely not going to disappoint. It’s time to invest in some new pajamas and snuggly blankets because you’re going to be spending a lot of time on your couch this year.
10 RESIDENT EVIL: Infinite Darkness
The series everyone is waiting for, RESIDENT EVIL: Infinite Darkness, is set to be released sometime this year. The upcoming series will be produced Capcom’s Hiroyuki Kobayashi, who was also involved in the creation of the famous Resident Evil series from 2008 to 2017. The story will be focusing on the two popular characters, Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield. Though not much is revealed about the plot yet, Netflix announced that the series will “reveal a Resident Evil world unlike anything seen before.”
9 The Witcher, Season 2
After bringing a whole new group of fans to love the story of Geralt of Rivia, Netflix is bringing back the white haired wolf to the screen for the second season of The Witcher. Filming for the second season was delayed due to the rise of COVID-19, however, production continued in August 2020, so things are on track to be released by the end of 2021. Fans are beyond excited to see more of Geralt, Yennefer, Ciri, and Jaskier sometime this year.
8 Shadow & Bone
Based on the books Shadow & Bone and Six of Crows by author Leigh Bardugo, this new fantasy thriller will follow the story of a young solider who possesses a magical power that she could use to unite her country.
The heroine must overcome dangerous threats to her life while also gaining control over her newfound powers. The new series is set to be released this spring, on April 23, 2021.
7 Stranger Things, Season 4
The next season of one the most watched shows on all of Netflix is coming this year and fans cannot wait for it. The Duffer Brothers are back and are sure to rip out the hearts of everyone who watches it, as they’ve done in the past seasons. Only minor Netflix teasers have been released so far, including a clip that reveals Hopper is alive and is being held captive and forced to work in Russia. After three seasons of speculation, Stranger Things fans will likely get an explanation on what Russia truly wants with Hawkins and the connection to the Upside-Down.
6 Midnight Mass
Mike Flanagan, director of The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor, is released yet another next horror series with Netflix this year. This seven-episode series will follow the terrifying and miraculous encounters that a community faces once a mysterious priest comes to town. In December 2020, Flanagan took to Twitter to announce that filming had wrapped and that it was the “best production experience of his entire career.” That’s reason enough to binge the upcoming show!
5 Clickbait
Clickbait serves to open the eyes of internet users across the globe, bringing light to the dangerously blurred line between real life and the internet. The eight episodes of the show will highlight eight different characters viewpoints of a crime that was committed due to toxic social media.The American-Australian show will feature popular actors, including Betty Gabriel and Adrian Grenier.
The thriller doesn’t have too many teasers out yet, but we can expect it to be released sometime later this year. You might want to take a breather from social media for a while…

3 Masters of the Universe: Revelation
Fans of the iconic 80s cartoon will be thrilled to watch Masters of the Universe: Revelations, the long-awaited sequel to the show. He-Man, Orko, Cringer, and Man-At-Arms will once again be pitted against Skeletor, Evil-Lyn, Beast Man and more! However, Teela is set to take the spotlight in this series, heading on a journey to uncover the missing Sword of Power to save the entire Universe! 2 Behind Her Eyes
Another miniseries based on a book, Behind Her Eyes is going to be released on February 17th, 2021. All fanatics of psychological thrillers are going to definitely want to binge this one. The original novel was first published in 2017 and was written by English author Sarah Pinborough.
The show’s story follows a single mother name Louise who finds herself stuck in a dangerous situation after entering an affair with her new boss and befriending his wife. Unexpected twists and dark truths await Louise!
1 Halston
The one and only Ewan McGregor will be starring in the upcoming Netflix show, Halston. The limited series will follow “the meteoric rise and fall of the first American celebrity fashion designer.” Roy Halston Frowick, who went simply by Halston, completely changed the creative direction of fashion and design in the 70s. The series will portray the struggles Halston had to face during his time in the spotlight in the fashion world.
