Apex Legends‘ Season 8 content has been out for almost a week now and players are slowly but surely learning the new meta that’s forming with the changes introduced this season. Additionally, players are testing out the new Apex Legends character Fuse and seeing where his abilities and playstyle fit into the battle royale.
Though Fuse has only been available for about a week, it seems like there are a lot of players who have already found some incredible ways to play Fuse. Recently, one Apex Legends player demonstrated an amazing use of Fuse’s Passive Ability, Grenadier, to get an incredibly impressive play using the master of mayhem himself.
The clip that shows off this impressive play comes from the official Apex Legends subreddit. A user going by the handle CompControlled posted the clip which shows Fuse’s Passive Ability being used to launch an arc star grenade across the map. The player launches an arc star towards an enemy over 250 meters away but undershoots it. The player’s teammate places a ping to more accurately show where the enemy is, and the player launches another arc star at a different trajectory. This time the arc star lands a direct hit, sticking the player for 90 shield damage and exploding for another 70.
While the arc star didn’t end up killing the enemy player, it undoubtedly gave them quite the scare. The Grenadier ability is extremely fun to use, especially for those players who know just how underrated a well-placed grenade can be. For those who may not know, Fuse’s Passive lets him stack grenades in his inventory and allows him to fire them much farther and more accurately then other Legends. On top of that, Fuse’s Ultimate Ability acts as a mortar that rains down fire that can trap opponents inside.
Using the Ultimate Ability from above in combination with Grenadier can create a deadly combo where players trapped in the ring of fire are flooded with a barrage of grenades that they can’t dodge. Filling the ring of fire with Apex Legend‘s fiery thermite grenades is another brutal strategy that has a very high chance of killing enemies outright from damage over time. These are just a few ways that Fuse can use his abilities in Apex Legends and players are slowly uncovering more as time goes on.
As Season 8 continues, players will undoubtedly figure out the best ways to make use of Fuse’s kit and what situations he works best in. As of right now, it seems like Fuse sits nicely in Apex Legends‘ meta, not being overpowered or underpowered. However, it’s still up in the air whether or not he will see use at the top of Apex Legends‘ competitive scene. Still, players using him in public games or early ranked matches should have no worries about Fuse underperforming, provided they know how best to make use of his abilities.
Apex Legends is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and releases for Nintendo Switch on March 9.
