The online shooter has attracted 25 million users in less than two years.
Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege has attracted around 70 million players since its release at the end of 2015.
That’s according to the French publishing giant’s financials for the three months ending December 2020, in which it said that the tactical online shooter had seen “solid acquisition” during the quarter.
Siege was released in December 2015 with the number of users flocking to the shooter increasing in recent years. By March 2018, the title had 30 million players, while 12 months later, the game boasted 45 million users, meaning it has attracted another 25 million users in less than two years.
“Our strategy continues to bear fruits,” Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot said.
“We achieved the strongest quarter in Ubisoft’s history, by far, thanks to the quality of our releases and the depth of our catalog. We are immensely proud of our teams who, in exceptionally challenging times, launched four great titles across multiple platforms and simultaneously continued to enrich our Live services. This is an unparalleled achievement and they showed remarkable adaptability and resilience. Our ability to execute at such a high level of quality demonstrates the power of our production model and the sustainability of our organization.”
As well as Siege, Ubisoft is also working on another Rainbow Six game in Quarantine. That’s set to release at some point in the company’s 2021-2021 fiscal year (between April 2021 and March 2022, in English).
