After a bit of a rocky start to Season 1, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is finally hitting its stride, and the recently launched League Play in multiplayer is likely to draw a number of players in, given that League was huge in Black Ops 4. While good weapon balance and varied game modes are making the Call of Duty experience fun, the game can’t quite shake bugs popping up, and a new one is being reported in multiplayer.
Bugs have been a common occurrence in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War as well as the hugely popular Call of Duty BR, Warzone, to the point where the community expects that a new update will lead to more game-breaking bugs. In recent weeks, developer Raven Software has been more forthcoming about issues within the game, and has done a better job at addressing bugs.
The latest bug to show up in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War involves Search and Destroy. The one-sided game mode, where one team is on offense and the other defends bomb sites, is a first-to-6-wins match, but players are reporting that despite hitting the 6 win threshold, they are not declared the winner. Instead, the game continues, allowing the other team to reach 6 points as well, resulting in a draw. While not as game-breaking as some of the Warzone glitches, like the invisibility glitch in the Armored Royale mode, watching a win slip away because of a bug is frustrating.
Bugs aside, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is finding its groove after some growing pains with Warzone integration and the like. With Season 2 on the horizon, new weapons for Black Ops Cold War are being leaked, and rumors of a new map for Warzone continue to make the rounds. It is unfortunate that every update meant to improve the game ends up introducing new bugs, but with demand for new content so high, QA might be getting rushed in order to deliver that content.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
