Destiny 2: How to Get Palindrome | Game Rant

Destiny 2: Beyond Light, Season of the Chosen, brings back a popular Destiny 1 Hand Cannon, The Palindrome. Alongside The Palindrome, Season of the Chosen also brings Guardians two other reprised Destiny 1 weapons: the Shadow Price Auto Rifle, and The Swarm Machine Gun.

Guardians will want to chase these weapons to add to their accounts either for nostalgia or a chance at one of the new Season of the Chosen weapon perks. The Palindrome is a 140RPM Void energy Hand Cannon, making it a strong option in the current Destiny 2: Beyond Light meta. The Palindrome, as well as the two other reprised Destiny 1 weapons, are straightforward to obtain, requiring Guardians to run the weekly Nightfall: The Ordeal Strike.

The Palindrome does not boast the popular, Luck in the Chamber perk from Destiny 1, however, it does come with an all-new perk, Bottomless Grief. The Bottomless Grief perk refills the magazine of the gun when players take down enemies, while they are the last living member of their fireteam. The Palindrome can pair the new Bottomless Grief perk with Rampage, to create a gun suited to helping Guardians in game modes like Trials of Osiris.

The Nightfall: The Ordeal is currently the only way to obtain The Palindrome, however, there is a catch. The Palindrome, as a Nightfall: The Ordeal reward is on weekly rotation with both the Shadow Price, as well as The Swarm. This means that The Palindrome is only available for one week at a time and will rotate out of the loot pool to make way for Shadow Price, and The Swarm.

There is currently no in-game way to tell when The Palindrome is available as the weekly Nightfall: The Ordeal reward. Guardians will want to note that higher difficulties of Nightfall: The Ordeal, give higher chances of awarding these weapons.

No matter how Guardians feel about reprised weapons in Destiny 2, The Palindrome, as well as Shadow Price, and The Swarm, help fill some gaps in weapon archetype coverage, created by Destiny 2’s sunsetting mechanics. These weapons enter Destiny 2: Beyond Light, alongside several other new, and reprised weapons such as the Igneous Hammer, a Solar energy Hand Cannon, and The Messenger Kinetic Pulse Rifle, both from Trials of Osiris.

Guardians looking for weapons to replace their recently sunset weapons have many new options to chase, with new perks, and new gun models added into Destiny 2: Beyond Light, Season of the Chosen. Guardians are always evolving and upgrading their arsenal of space-alien killing weapons, and now have more options to take into the war with Empress Caiatl, and her Cabal warriors.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
