Players that wish to engage with Genshin Impact‘s Theater Mechanicus minigame, which is available through the end of February as part of the Lantern Rite event, must craft Xiao Lanterns. This crafting requires the acquisition of several different materials, one of which is known as Plaustrite Shards. For those Genshin Impact fans that may be having some trouble finding this Lantern material, this guide will detail several locations that are very good targets for farming it.
Before jumping into specific recommendations for Plaustrite Shard farming spots, it is worth mentioning that these items can be acquired when harvesting any ore or dispatching any Geovishap, Geovishap Hatchling, or Stonehide Lawachurl. While fans will not always receive a Plaustrite Shard from these sources, the pervasiveness of the material means that players are likely to obtain a number of them through standard gameplay. Still, fans that want to be more calculated in their farming efforts are advised to read on.
The first place that fans may want to check for Plaustrite Shards is just southwest of Mt. Aozang. Indeed, there is a Geovishap Hatchling and a number of Crystal nodes in this location, and Genshin Impact players that take the time to eliminate the foe and smash all of the ores will be rewarded with quite a number of Plaustrite Shards. For those fans that prefer a visual reference, the precise position of this farming spot can be seen in the following video.
Alternatively, players can direct their attention to Mt. Tianheng, which is located to the west of Liyue Harbor, or to the area southeast of Qingxu Pools. In both instances, players that visit these locations will find harvestable ores in abundance, and breaking them will yield a good amount of Plaustrite Shards. Again, these farming locations can be seen in the video featured in this guide, and it should make finding them fairly simple.
As previously mentioned, Plaustrite Shards are not all that players will need in order to create Xiao Lanterns, as Lantern Fibers and Wick Materials are also required. The former of these two materials can be found quite easily by simply harvesting the myriad of plants that are scattered across Genshin Impact‘s map, though things get slightly more complicated with the latter. Specifically, fans will need to destroy hilichurl-type enemies and Fatui elites to get Wick Material, making it the Lantern material with the most-limited sources.
Genshin Impact is available now on the App Store, Google Play, PC, and PS4, and is currently in development for PS5 and Switch.
