Ubisoft Is Giving Away Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China for Free

Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China is currently available free of charge on Ubisoft Connect, with PC players able to get their hands on the spin-off game right now. The announcement was made via the digital storefront’s Twitter page yesterday, with the post revealing that the title will be claimable until next week on February 16.

For those wanting to grab the game, be warned that Ubisoft‘s servers are currently experiencing issues, preventing a number of PC players from being able to hop online and claim their copy. Luckily, the game will still be around for the next few days, so those who can’t redeem a copy today can return to the storefront before it departs on Tuesday.

As for the game itself, Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China follows Shao Jun, the last remaining member of the Chinese brotherhood. The story takes place during the fall of the Ming dynasty, as Jun battles against templars in an effort to restore her fallen brotherhood and continue to take the fight to her sworn enemies. It kickstarted a new trilogy of smaller Assassin’s Creed games that were framed from a 2.5D perspective, being followed by other iterations taking place in India and Russia.

It’s definitely a welcome surprise for Assassin’s Creed fans on PC and those with an account on Ubisoft Connect. This year will feature plenty more big Ubisoft games, with the publisher looking to ship Far Cry 6 on current and next-generation platforms at an as of yet unspecified date. It’s also sure to make a splash with its DLC for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which will take Eivor and their Viking crew to Ireland and France.

Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China is out now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
