MMA Fighter Connor McGregor Ridicules Nate Diaz Over Gaming Chair

In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, the professional MMA artist Nate Diaz was seen on a gaming chair that could have gone unnoticed for most viewers. However, Nate’s fellow MMA artist Conor McGregor took an interest in the chair and was not shy to make fun of it in what seems to be an attempt to mock Diaz.

This is not the first controversial interaction between the two MMA fighters. Back in 2016, Diaz and McGregor fought each other on the Ultimate Fighting Championship 202 and the results of the event were contentious. Although Conor McGregor won the match, the decision was not unanimous. McGregor dominated during the first rounds but Nate Diaz took the fifth round. In the end, it all came down to the judges’ scores, and, even though one of the judges disagreed with the decision, McGregor was declared the winner.

Even though Diaz and McGregor did not fight against each other after the UFC 202, there might be some underlying rivalry between the two MMA fighters. Nate Diaz’s interview was shared on Ariel Helwani’s Instagram account where Conor McGregor caught everyone’s attention when he posted consecutive comments making fun of Nate Diaz’s gaming chair and calling it a “race car chair.” Nate Diaz’s chair is a black and white Homall’s S-Racer, and it is likely that McGregor confused it for a race cair chair due to the brand’s name, which is printed on the head cushion.

One of the reasons McGregor’s comments were so notorious is the fact that the three of them were posted within a span of a few minutes. Some onlookers took this to be a sign that Conor McGregor was still upset about the controversy of the UFC 202 match. It is worth noting that Diaz has not fought since 2019 but, as Ariel Helwani noted in his interview with Nate, many fighters have been talking recently about Diaz and McGregor’s comments on the Instagram post only seemed to confirm that.

Even though Conor McGregor’s comments came off as juvenile for some, it is unclear if McGregor was indeed caught up on his last match with Nate Diaz. After all, McGregor was the winner of the match meaning there is not a good reason for him to be resentful of the event. In any case, McGregor could have just taken the opportunity to bully Diaz just because it seemed easy.
