Fans of The Witcher 3 probably know the property wasn’t originally a video game IP, but instead started as a book series. Though details in The Witcher book series were changed in the video game adaptations developed by CD Projekt Red, the overall spirit and feel of the series remained largely intact through The Witcher game series.
As such, fans who loved The Witcher video game series but haven’t checked out the books by Andrzej Sapkowski should give some thought to reading them. Now, those fans looking to make their Witcher-related books more stylish can purchase decorative Kaer Morhen-styled bookends from Dark Horse Comics.
For those who haven’t heard of Dark Horse Comics, it is an Oregon-based company that publishes mainly comic books and manga based on a variety of different IP. In fact, Dark Horse has published Witcher comics, as well as lore and art books for the series. Dark Horse has published over 20 comics based around The Witcher Series, with four collection books available that bundle all of them together. Now, Dark Horse Comics is offering a decorative bookend that would house any Witcher books or comics readers have collected over the years.
The set goes for $139.99, and comes with two polyresin bookends that stand 8 inches tall, 7 inches wide, and 5.25 inches deep. The bookends are styled around the architecture of the famous Kaer Morhen Witcher school, at which Geralt of Rivia trained. The most striking detail about the bookends is the Wolf’s Medallion motif adorned on each arch. The bookends will be available on August 8, 2021, but interested readers can pre-order them now via nearby comic stores that carry Dark Horse products.
Those readers who like what Dark Horse comics has to offer should definitely check out the company’s website. Alongside publishing comic books of popular IP, Dark Horse also produces a lot of merchandise surrounding different franchises. Though some Witcher fans may be upset that CD Projekt Red’s series has come to a close, there is still plenty of Witcher material out there. For example, The Witcher Netflix show is returning in 2021 following a well-received first season. While production had to stop due to complications with the pandemic, the second season is still expected to come out sometime this year. Additionally, Sapkowski’s original books are excellent reads, which would be great material to fill out Dark Horse Comic’s decorative Witcher bookends.
