Call of Duty Mobile has built a reputation as a fully supported and well-made CoD game that can be played on the go, with new content being added regularly. Another strength of the game has been how open TiMi Studios is with the Call of Duty Mobile fanbase, constantly addressing feedback and requests.
TiMi Studios interacting with fans has been seen since Call of Duty Mobile launched, with several Reddit comments being directly replied to over the past year. Whether it was players asking about Diamond camo or if a certain scorestreak would be added, TiMi Studios has consistently issued a response. As such, it is hardly a surprise that recent complaints about leveling and a lack of prestige received a response as well.
With Call of Duty Mobile adding new maps and modes to the game constantly, it makes sense that players would like to level up more as they play this new content. While camo grinding is a solid incentive, most Call of Duty games combine this task with profile leveling, as prestige mode has been a constant in all major releases besides Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019. Fortunately, players have a reason to be hopeful about the feature eventually coming to Call of Duty Mobile, as TiMi Studios is “very much aware” of the prestige mode demands.
The latest developer update sees the issue addressed via its own section, and while TiMi Studios has considered features like the Gunsmith to be a main source of progression for the game, it does see the demand for more ranks tied to the “main profile level system.” While various, unshared methods of extending the cap are being considered at this time, there is nothing to share at the moment — though it sounds like players can expect more leveling options sometime in the near future.
With players approving of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s prestige system, as changing emblems and bonus rewards made a welcome return in the game, it remains to be seen if TiMi Studios will follow in Treyarch’s path. Something more traditional to the old system may appear, or prestige may not even be added at all — with more levels simply being added on to the current count. With the current cap of 150 being hit by most active players, though, it makes sense that more requests would be coming in for new levels.
Though fans will have to wait until a future season of Call of Duty Mobile for more progression options, knowing that they could finally be coming to the game is still exciting. If TiMi Studios’ past decisions with Call of Duty Mobile are anything to go by, whatever changes are made will be the right ones for both the game and its community.
Call of Duty Mobile is available now on Android and iOS mobile devices.
