John Krasinski Imagined As Reed Richards In Fantastic Four Fan Art

After the momentous reveal in WandaVision’s fifth episode hinted at the possibility of a multiverse in the works, Marvel fans have been buzzing with speculation about which actors will be next to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In terms of the Fantastic Four, there has been a push to have John Krasinski play Reed Richards in the upcoming Jon Watts project and thanks to some new fan art, we can now visualize the proposed casting even better.

Saarukan Suhanthan, a digital artist on Instagram who goes by the handle “@saarukan.psd,” posted a photo of his artwork where he imagined Krasinski as Mr. Fantastic. Putting him in the iconic blue hero suit with the Fantastic Four emblem on the front and a white lab coat overtop, Suhanthan managed to create a convincing depiction of the A Quiet Place star as the superhero group’s leader.

Ever since the Disney-Fox merger gave the rights to characters from the X-Men and Fantastic Four franchises back to Marvel, the internet has been in a frenzy with fan-castings and MCU fan art. In the case of Krasinski possibly playing Mr. Fantastic, nothing has been confirmed yet by the studio; however, he has said in a past interview that he would love to be a part of the MCU’s Fantastic Four if he was approached for a role.

Fans have been vocal about wanting Krasinski and his real-life spouse Emily Blunt to play Richards and Sue Storm, a.k.a. the Invisible Woman, respectively. While there have been rumors floating around that Blunt has been in talks with Marvel, none of them appear to come from a solidly reliable source.

Both Krasinski and Blunt have come close to joining the MCU in the past. Krasinski was in the running to play Captain America before Chris Evans was cast and Blunt was a top choice for Natasha Romanoff and Peggy Carter before she had to turn down both roles due to scheduling conflicts.

While those opportunities didn’t work out, perhaps their time will come now that Marvel continues to expand its multiverse. After Josh Trank’s 2015 Fantastic Four reboot turned out to be a box office failure, perhaps the star duo is exactly what the franchise needs.

The Fantastic Four reboot is reportedly in the works as part of the MCU’s Phase 5 of development.
