Microsoft Flight Simulator is still the safest way to travel in 2021, but now players can set their destinations on the UK, Ireland, and more in its most recent update.
World Update 3 comes in a long line of free updates for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Late last year, the game added expansions featuring Japanese locations including landmarks and airports such as Mount Fuji, Himeji Castle, and Tokyo Skytree. At Flight Simulator‘s launch, players could only see the Haneda Airport in Tokyo, though mods adding the iconic Gundam statue were popular. Similarly, Buckingham Palace was already in Flight Simulator, albeit in the form of a corporate office block, but many locations were missing from the UK and its neighboring countries.
But after some delays to the UK update, Microsoft Flight Simulator has implemented many architectural elements in England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales, shown in stunning detail in the most recent trailer. Firstly, the update adds five new cities to fly over, including Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, London, and Oxford, and several new airports can now be landed in and taken off from, including Barra, Liverpool, Land’s End, and Out Skerries.
In Microsoft Flight Simulator‘s new update, the development team has also added homes in the corresponding regions, such as British manors, Victorian homes, and countryside stone structures. Additionally, a few new activities are included in the free update: an Iconic Flight in the Northern Isles and two Landing Challenges.
Microsoft Flight Simulator is available now on PC and is planned for release on Xbox Series X/S in 2021.
