The Flash Producer Teases DC Film’s Production With BTS Photo

After a long wait, production on one of DC’s highly anticipated films, The Flash, seems to be back on track. Filming was reportedly scheduled to begin in April this year, and a behind-the-scenes photograph shared by the film’s producer, Barbara Muschietti, confirms that the crew has arrived onset and is already preparing for it to go smoothly, behind closed doors.

On her official Instagram account, Muschietti posted a photograph teasing the sets that are currently being built for the film. The image shows Andy Muschietti, her brother and director of The Flash film, standing in front of a warehouse that looks like one of the sound stages at the Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden. The brief caption reads: “The fun is in the inside.”

While the picture doesn’t reveal a lot of details, it comes as a relief for many The Flash fans who have been waiting for a standalone movie featuring the superhero. Ezra Miller’s Scarlet Speedster made his first full appearance in the DCEU in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016 and a film about his own adventures has been talked about ever since. Initial plans were to have the movie ready and out in theaters by 2018. However, it became the victim of multiple delays and setbacks, mainly due to creative differences that led to many directors leaving the project. The Muschietti siblings were finally brought on board in the summer of 2019 and now things are finally moving ahead.

The Flash, which is expected to hit the big screens in November 2022, will see Miller reprise his role as Barry Allen, who turns into the fastest man alive, with the script adapting parts of the Flashpoint storyline from the comics. Ever since the news about the Flashpoint adaptation was revealed, fans have been speculating whether this will be the film that resets the DC Extended Universe. The comics portray The Flash running through time and space and encountering different timelines, thus introducing him to alternate versions of some of the DCEU characters.

It was previously confirmed that Miller will be joined by Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton, with both actors playing two different versions of Batman. This further confirmed Flash’s reunion with two different versions of the same character. Keaton had taken on the role of the Caped Crusader in Tim Burton’s critically acclaimed Batman in 1989 and Batman Returns in 1992. News of him returning to reprise his role was applauded by fans of the Batman series.

Apart from appearing in a short role in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Miller’s Flash had also made a cameo in Suicide Squad, followed by a major role in 2017’s Justice League. He will next be appearing in Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

The Flash is expected to arrive in theaters on November 4, 2022.
