Destruction AllStars Update Fixes Crashing Issues and More

Destruction AllStars is the latest PS5 exclusive that comes from Lucid Games. Many players have been enjoying this frantic multiplayer car-battling title, especially since it launched as a free game for PS Plus subscribers. Even though the game has received mixed reviews from critics, the developers have still been updating the game with patches to iron out any issues that are affecting players’ gameplay experience.

Lucid Games tweeted out a list of patch notes that were implemented today for Destruction AllStars in Patch 1.2.4. There aren’t many fixes in the update, but they will help players prevent their game from crashing and other things such as not allowing players to join a match until the game is fully downloaded to their PS5 console.

Here’s the list of the patch notes from Lucid Games’ official Twitter account:

  • Added a server region in Australia.
  • Players can change their multiplayer server via the options menu.
  • Fixed several server crashes relating to matchmaking.
  • Players now need to wait for the game to fully download before joining a party. This prevents a crash whereby players could enter matchmaking before finishing their download.

This isn’t the first patch to come to Destruction AllStars since it launched earlier this month. Just last week, developer Lucid Games put out a hotfix for the title that fixed up several issues and overall, improving the player experience. The Weekly Reset time was changed to Wednesday at 3 pm UTC, Weekly Challenges now award AllStar coins, and XP rewards for the challenges were increased.

Destruction AllStars released in early February and was included in this month’s free games collection for PlayStation Plus subscribers, allowing folks to try out the divisive title without spending $70 on it, like some other AAA titles. Also included in February’s collection are two action-adventure titles: Concrete Genie, and Remedy’s Control: Ultimate Editon, which comes included with the game’s two previously released expansions, The Foundation and AWE; the latter being a must-play for long-time Alan Wake fans.

As the community continues to play Destruction AllStars, there’s no doubt that Lucid Games will continue to support the game with frequent updates, patches, and extra content to flesh out the experience. The developers have already said that the game will get at least one year of additional content after launch, so players can look forward to the next update soon.

Destruction AllStars is available now as a PS5 exclusive.
