The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Fan Snaps a Selfie With Every NPC

In the four years since the release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, fans have taken numerous self-imposed challenges upon themselves. These run the gamut from three-heart challenges, to bread-baking speedruns, to today’s entry: taking a selfie with every NPC in the game.

Reddit user FieldExplores scoured the ruins of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s Hyrule from mountain peaks to desert oases in order to snap a photo with every NPC they could find. They then took to Reddit to share their favorite pictures, featuring photobombing Koroks, body-building Gorons and even the odd Yiga Clan member for good measure.

It’s a fun project in any case, but some of the composition and style in the photos really is rather impressive. FieldExplores regularly switches up outfits and strikes the perfect pose to complete the look, such as dressing up in Sheikah clothes while snapping a shot with the Yiga Clan’s Master Kohga or donning the Tingle outfit to get a selfie with ubiquitous salesman Beedle.

With info on Breath of the Wild 2 still thin on the ground, it’s perhaps no surprise that fans are trying to wring every last drop of entertainment from its critically-acclaimed forebear. Speedruns and challenge runs comprise a significant chunk of the fan-driven content still coming out of the game, such as the recent 100%, no-damage run from streamer joedun, but plenty of folks are filling the airwaves with videos of trick arrow shots, inventive Magnesis/Stasis combos and much more as well.

If fans are still waiting for the next stage of Breath of the Wild‘s story, they’ve certainly been happy to get stuck into its prequel with gusto. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity has sold over 3.5 million units since its release last November, becoming the single best-selling Musou game of all time. Nintendo surely has high hopes for Breath of the Wild‘s upcoming sequel as well and if it has half the potential for fun and creative emergent gameplay of its predecessor, the company will have little to worry about.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is available now on Nintendo Switch and Wii U.
