Baldur’s Gate 3 Classes That Should Be Introduced After Druid

Baldur’s Gate 3 will soon receive a newly playable class when Druids are added in Patch 4. Druids are set to join the ranks of Fighters, Rangers, Clerics, Rogue, Warlocks, and Wizards as options for characters. The Druids class will add a new layer to combat in the game with their abilities to wield magic and polymorph, and a lot of fans are hoping for more role-playing opportunities as well. Baldur’s Gate 3 already has a good selection of classes, and Druids could go a long way to diversify the action even more. Beyond Druids, there are several other classes that Larian Studios could introduce to give players more options in approaching combat and role-playing.

Larian Studios selected a range of different classes for the beginning of early access to give players a taste of melee, ranged, and the various types of magical combat. Druids are predominantly magical classes who provide a lot of utility due to their Wild Shape ability. Wild Shape allows a Druid to morph into any creature they have seen before, which opens up numerous tactical opportunities for them and their adventuring party. A lot of Baldur’s Gate fans are excited about Larian Studios’ announcement of the Druid class, and there are more classes Larian could look at adding next to spice up the gameplay and role-playing aspects some more.

Paladins in Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition are heralded by many fans as a force to be reckoned with, due to the combination of their martial abilities and spellcasting. Paladins were once considered a typical knight in shining armor class, who were virtuous and lawful, but over the years the class has become more malleable to different alignments.

What makes playing Paladins so fun is their ability to hold their own on the front lines of combat, while also being skilled in magic, allowing them to provide utility and support to an adventuring party. These holy warriors choose their subclasses at the 3rd level in the form of Sacred Oaths, which can alter their playstyle in different ways depending on what the player prefers. Paladins are natural leader characters and could provide many role-playing opportunities for players who like to pursue more diplomatic resolutions to conflict while retaining the ability to defeat their foes in combat.

Monks offer a wide range of versatility for players and act as viable options for dishing out damage, supporting characters, and taking a defensive approach to combat. Before Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition, Monks were considered by many to be underpowered. As a result, they weren’t the most popular class choice among tabletop gamers. Dungeons and Dragons‘ 5th Edition did a good job of re-building the Monk into a more viable class, with many different suitable playstyles. Monks excel in unarmed combat and in using simple weaponry while also being unarmored, making them natural nimble strikers.

Monks can tap into various skillsets thanks to Ki, an empowering force for the class. Using Ki, Monks can launch offense with Flurry of Blows, act defensively with Patience Defense, and enhance mobility with Step of the Wind. Monks, like other classes, have access to several different subclasses which amplify different talents. At level 3, Monks choose their Monastic Tradition, and with it they can be molded into different roles. Dungeons and Dragons Monks are versatile combatants and could provide Baldur’s Gate 3 fans with excellent diversity and opportunities for replaying the same class, offering a different take on melee combat.

Bards in Dungeons and Dragons are the ultimate utility class, as they typify the “jack of all trades, master of none” figure of speech. Bards can participate in combat, support their allies, manipulate their opponents, and heal. Their wide range of abilities make them a popular Dungeons and Dragons class in many circles, and their skills also make them a great class for Baldur’s Gate 3 in and out of combat. Bards can do a lot and tend to be adept in NPC interactions, making them a great choice for customized characters in Baldur’s Gate 3.

There are few things that Bards can’t do, making them a possibly great class for gamers to try out Baldur’s Gate 3. Bard subclasses are chosen at level 3, where players choose their Bard’s College. Depending on which Bard College is chosen, it will allow the Bard to double down on support abilities, manipulate the battlefield, or even steal spells from their enemies. Whenever Larian Studios introduce the Bard class, it could easily become very popular very quickly, but it could be ideal for the Early Access stage of the game after the introduction of Druids. Bards have a lot to offer players in Baldur’s Gate 3 due to their inherent versatility.

The remaining classes that have yet to be introduced have a lot to offer players of Baldur’s Gate 3Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition is regarded by many to be a great iteration of the game, with each class bearing a strong sense of individuality. As more options are introduced for players, Baldur’s Gate 3 could see some interesting party builds take shape and offer a lot of replayability to the RPG.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is available now in Early Access on PC and Stadia.
