It’s been an interesting week for video games, giving Cameron and Anthony a lot to talk about on Game Rant Arcade Episode 9. With the first mainline Nintendo Direct in over a year and a surprising number of controversies for a single video game, it’s time for Arcade’s longest episode yet.
Kicking things off, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart finally has a release date, but it’s a bit troubling. Launching on June 11, the release date makes a God of War: Ragnarok launch in 2021 seem highly unlikely. With June being nearly empty, though, it seems like it will move more than a few copies.
Next up, Six Days in Fallujah made a surprise return, though it still seems like a bad idea. With a negative initial reaction to its announcement and some developer interviews making things worse, Six Days in Fallujah‘s future seems uncertain. Luckily, the Nintendo Direct came with tons of new information about the Switch’s next year, even if it wasn’t everything fans had hoped for.
Skyward Sword coming to the Switch over some of the more popular entries has ruffled a few feathers, and no new Breath of the Wild 2 news was announced, other than a reveal that more information will come at some point this year. There’s still time, but it seems a bit underwhelming for Zelda‘s anniversary.
