Animal Crossing: New Horizons English Manga Coming This Fall 2021

The one-year anniversary of Nintendo’s Animal Crossing: New Horizons is fast approaching and there seems to be no end to the various content the title is producing for its fans. In the most recent 2021 Nintendo Direct, a new update that involves iconic Super Mario items will be implemented into the game within the same month. And now, publishing company Viz Media has announced that it will be producing an English adaptation of the game’s Japanese manga titled Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Deserted Island Diary.

The fanbase of Animal Crossing: New Horizons always seems to be alive and hopping. Players are given constant incentive to keep going back into the game as the development team is consistent in providing content updates. This includes seasonal activities that involve Chinese New Year, Valentine’s Day, and even the recent Festivale event that featured the special New Leaf character Pave. Now, fans can also have some ACNH-themed reading material courtesy of Viz Media.

In the company’s official Twitter, Viz Media shares that Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Deserted Island Diary will be made available to the public in English this fall. The original Animal Crossing: New Horizons manga material first appeared in CoroCoro Comic, a Japanese magazine that mainly publishes manga content once a month. Fans will likely be very excited about Viz Media’s adaptation, as this is the first Animal Crossing manga that will officially be translated into English, and made available to the market outside of Japan.

Viz Media also shared the Japanese manga cover in the same social media post, giving the fans a little hint of what story or content they can expect from the Animal Crossing: New Horizons manga. Popular characters such as business mogul Tom Nook, the Nooklings, the island museum curator Blathers, and even special event characters such as Wisp and Gulliver are featured in the artwork. The player’s villagers are also showcased front and center, showing off what they do best, collecting materials and working hard to improve life on their deserted island getaway.

Fans of Animal Crossing: New Horizons may also notice that the cover features some of the game’s newly introduced villagers such as Raymond and Dom. With the resident villagers arguably being the biggest draw in most Animal Crossing games, it can be likely that the manga will tell stories of them and what they normally do around the island when the player’s character is not around. Fans will have to wait until the manga launches in Fall 2021 to find out.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now for the Nintendo Switch.
