Persona 5 Strikers: Is There Romance? | Game Rant

Persona 5 Strikers is a direct sequel to Persona 5, taking place a couple of months after the events of the original game that released a few years ago on PlayStation consoles. What makes Strikers so different from Persona 5 however is the change to the battle system that the series is known for. Instead of a traditional turn-based system in which all members of the battle have to wait their turn to take action, Persona 5 Strikers takes on the form of a Musou-styled game, somewhat similar to the recent Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity and other Warriors titles.

And it’s not only the battle system that’s different in this sequel, as there are several elements from the original game that are not included at all, such as dating and romance. It might be unfortunate to hear if someone is a huge fan of Persona 5‘s dating system, but Strikers replaces it entirely with a Bond system where players can spend Bond Points to increase certain attributes of the team and their personas, such as attack power or HP.

Since Persona 5 Strikers doesn’t allow players to form Confidants or romance particular characters, there are still occasions when players can choose to hang out with a certain person in some situations. It’s also worth noting that days aren’t timed in Persona 5 Strikers, as they are in its predecessor. Players will no longer need to stress about who to spend time with after school or whether to work out at night or study for classes. The Phantom Thieves are on the road for the majority of the game, leaving no time for the player to mingle or chill out in locations around Tokyo.

If players would like to learn how to get more Bond points to use to upgrade characters, they are pretty much obtained by playing through the story and interacting with the main cast of characters. There are also other opportunities to get Bond points during the story and that can be done by cooking for friends, completing any requests, or from pivotal story moments. They can be spent by going into the main menu and going into the Bonds section toward the bottom of the menu.

If there are any Persona fans out there that are wanting to play Strikers before playing Persona 5, then reading this Persona 5 story summary will definitely help out to get an understanding of the characters and their motivations.

Persona 5 Strikers is now available on PC, PS4, and Switch.
