Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans excited to play the game’s Season 2 content can download the update now, and Treyarch has officially confirmed the file size. With the update being decently large, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans may want to get the download started as soon as possible.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s Season 2 content does not go live until 12 PM EST, but the update has gone live early to let players prepare their games ahead of time. Though the update is now available, it has different sizes depending on the platform. For PlayStation users, the PS4 version will take up 10.5 GB of space, with the PS5 version filling 18 GB worth of storage — numbers on par with the size of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s Season 1 update.
Xbox One owners will see their versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War requiring a 15.3 GB update, while Xbox Series S/X users have a huge 26.5 GB update to get downloaded. PC have a 13.7 GB Season 2 Update to get through if they want to use the new weapons or play on the new maps, placing them on the lower end of the update sizes. However, it is worth noting that different size updates will be seen for players that only play the free-to-play Call of Duty: Warzone.
Call of Duty: Warzone fans interested in seeing the cargo tanker point of interest will have a separate update of 17 GB on PS4 and PS5. All Xbox consoles will require a 17.9 GB download for Call of Duty: Warzone, with PC’s Warzone-only client requiring a 16.9 GB update. PC users with Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will need to free up 20.8 GB worth of space, bringing an end to the long list of different update sizes for this new seasonal content.
Aside from giving console players advice on how to free up space for multiple Call of Duty games, the post provides a brief rundown of all the content players can expect in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 2. The new Apocalypse multiplayer map, the returning game mode Gun Game, and a fresh Battle Pass are some of the things covered. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s upcoming free trial is also mentioned within the post, with gamers having a week to try the latest Black Ops.
For anybody looking to play the new Zombies Outbreak mode right away, downloading the update and heading offline will grant clever players some early access. It will only be playable solo, however, meaning that those interested in playing online will have to wait until tomorrow.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
