The Lumina exotic hand cannon is one of the most unique weapons in Destiny 2. It looks amazing, and can be used in both PVP and PVE. To obtain the weapon, players will need to find and complete the Weapon Of Hope quest. The quest can be found in the same location as the Thorn questline.
Before beginning the questline, Guardians need to be prepared to spend at least a couple of hours on the objectives. There are six main quest steps in total, and most of the steps have multiple objectives. Completing each step may be challenging, but gamers will receive two excellent hand cannons as a reward.
5 Finding The Teleporter
First, guardians should travel to the EDZ and head through the Salt Mines. The map above displays the Salt Mines, which are just north of Trostland. Next, guardians should proceed into the final warehouse where there will be a teleporter they can use. Guardians can find the teleporter by heading straight into the final warehouse. The teleporter is a bulbous, metallic machine with an orange stripe and orange piping connecting to a teleporter pad.
After teleporting, guardians should proceed up the cliffside directly in front of them. There will be a cave at the precipice of the cliffside. Instead of entering the cave, guardians should continue walking on the cliff to the left of the cave. Once at the campsite, they will need to pick up two quest steps. One will be found in the ashes of the campfire, and the other can be found in the chest at the edge of the camp.
4 The “A Fateful Gift” Quest Step
The “A Fateful Gift” quest step requires that guardians locate the original location of Thorn. The system positioning device, which will also drop in the chest, reveals the location of Thorn. The device changes locations every hour or so, and some are easier to find than others. Gamers can follow the positioning device clues to find the chest and complete the step. Not all locations will be in the EDZ, and some can be frustrating. After perusing the area for a few minutes, most players will be able to find the chest. Once guardians open the chest, they will acquire the next step, “Bearer of Evil’s Past.”
3 The “Bearer of Evil’s Past” Quest Step
To complete the “Bearer of Evil’s Past” step in the questline, guardians will need to generate 250 orbs of light. Because of the number of orbs required, they should be completing the challenge with as many other players as possible. Guardians will generate more orbs if they use their super. Any location that has a lot of adds is a good place to complete this step in the quest. With 4-6 people to help, generating the orbs should not be too tedious of a task.
As a solo player, this part of the quest can be monotonous, but it is simple nonetheless. Once the objective is complete, guardians will acquire the Rose legendary hand cannon. Next, they will need to complete the two quest steps listed below:
- Band Together: Complete a Nightfall of Strike with 50,000 score or better
- Face The Hordes: Complete encounters at the Blind Well, Black Armory forges, or Escalation Protocol
2 Lead A Fireteam, Preferably With All Guardians Equipped With A Rose
After completing the Nightfall and encounters, players will have to complete activities across the solar system while using Rose, the legendary hand cannon acquired earlier in the quest. Guardians will complete the quest faster if they have other fireteam members with a Rose in their inventory. Guardians on a fireteam should complete strikes, which are not very time-consuming and will yield 12 percent progress on the quest step as long as every player is using Rose.
Likewise, the Menagerie raid will give guardians 35% progress if completed with three players that are using the Rose hand cannon. The Crucible is also an option, but better suited to solo players that have pro-level experience in PVP. Once complete, guardians will unlock the “Strength In Numbers” quest step.
1 The “Strength In Numbers” Quest Step
Guardians will have to complete the three following steps to complete the “Strength In Numbers” quest:
- Eliminate guardians with a hand cannon (Crucible)
- Generate 50 orbs of light with a hand cannon equipped
- Defeat invaders in Gambit with a hand cannon equipped before they have killed any of your teammates
After completing all three of the above objectives, the Bloom quest step will appear. Guardians will then need to complete the Will of the Thousands strike while using the Rose to destroy crystals. After destroying eleven crystals, they then need to defeat Xol, Will of the Thousands. Defeating the boss is straightforward, especially with teammates. After XOL is defeated, guardians can finally wield the Lumina, which can be found in the boss chest.
Solo players that are weary of all the objectives in the quest should not be deterred by the volume of challenges. While it may take a little while longer, getting the Lumina is worth it. Interestingly enough, the Rose is a very good hand cannon as well that guardians can use in all modes. If players look in their collections, the Rose will be an upgraded masterwork with a new mod slot.
