With the launch of Season 2, there was plenty of new features and content added into Call of Duty: Warzone for players to enjoy. Some of Warzone’s Season 2 content included a new Event, new weapons, new Operators, game mode changes, Zombies content, and more.
Despite the new content in Call of Duty: Warzone, one of the new features was not well received by the players. Specifically, a new video intro that played before the start of each match in the Zombies Outbreak Challenge event. The cinematic was a well-made, atmospheric clip of a massive cargo tanker called the Vodianoy making its way towards the beaches of Verdansk. The problem was the video would play before the start of every match. Reportedly, even players who died from early elimination had to watch it again.
The intro cinematic itself was close to a minute long every time it played in the game. In a recent tweet, Call of Duty: Warzone’s developer Raven Software told players that it has disabled the pre-match cinematic with the Vodianoy ship. Now players won’t have to worry about the tanker ship intro playing every time, and while it was at it, the developer even tweeted a little joke about the video itself.
With the cinematic disabled, players can resume playing matches without the video playing every time before each match starts. Following the news, the replies to the tweet had a fair number of players celebrating the fix by Raven Software, others surprised by the joke, and some praising the developer’s communication with the player community. Especially while the developer still has a lot on its plate to work on for Call of Duty: Warzone.
Even with this latest fix, Raven Software is still on the lookout for any other issues that will demand its attention. This is especially important since Season 2 is still fresh from launch, and the possibility remains that more problems could emerge soon. However, the developer is still providing updates to the game in terms of content and fixes.
Raven Software released a new Call of Duty: Warzone Season 2 update a couple of days ago that brought several changes to the game, including gas damage buffs, bug fixes, and changes to certain game modes. Some of those game modes include Rebirth Island Resurgence Extreme and the Exfiltration mode released this season. With Call of Duty: Warzone Season 2 now available, Raven Software will be keeping an eye on the season’s development and how it impacts the players.
Call of Duty: Warzone is free-to-play for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
