Monster Hunter Rise PC Port Planned for Next Year | Game Rant

M0nster Hunter Rise is the latest entry in Capcom’s long-running action-RPG series. The title was announced as a Nintendo Switch exclusive and is set to launch in late March for the hybrid console, bringing the series back to a Nintendo system after 2018’s World was only available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Rise introduces some new gameplay elements that have never been done before, such as the Wirebug mechanic that allows hunters to jump across the maps at high speeds to reach high areas and perform devasting aerial combats on monsters.

Monster Hunter Rise also takes a lot of the quality-of-life features introduced in World to make things a bit smoother for series newcomers. And while the title was announced for Switch only, there were some Capcom leaks not too long ago that showed off evidence that Monster Hunter Rise would be getting a PC port sometime after the Switch version launches. And, thanks to a new interview with series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto via GamesRadar, it appears that the game has officially been confirmed for PC, with the version set to launch sometime in 2022.

While the port is currently in development, Tsujimoto stated that they [Capcom] don’t want to share too much about it just yet. When asked about the reasoning for bringing the game to PC, Tsujimoto said that part of it was because the PC port of Monster Hunter: World and Iceborne was such a success for the company and that “we always get a lot of fan requests for PC ports.

When Monster HunterWorld first launched on PC, there were many issues that players were facing, but eventually, Capcom cleaned things up and now the game is on par with its console counterparts. Now that the developers have experience with porting a Monster Hunter game to PC, hopefully, the port for Rise will launch without any issues or problems.

Capcom launched a demo for Monster Hunter Rise a few weeks ago for Switch owners to try out all of the different weapons and face off against a few of the monsters, and while the demo was solid overall, several players faced issues in which the game would lag whenever they would try to connect with other players online. However, Capcom stated that the issue won’t be in the final version of the game when it launches.

Monster Hunter Rise will launch for the Nintendo Switch on March 26, 2021, and the PC port will come later in 2022.
