Diablo 2: Resurrected’s Barbarian Looks Just Like WWE’s Batista

Dave Bautista, perhaps more commonly known by his stage name Batista, is one of WWE’s hall of famers (class of 2020). He’s arguably one of the most popular, professional, and athletic wrestler and mixed martial artist to grace the field, but throughout his career and even now, he’s also appeared elsewhere as an actor. He’s played Drax in the MCU and even appeared in Gears 5 as an alternate version of Marcus Fenix. Interestingly, while he’s not seemingly involved in Diablo 2: Resurrected, he and the newly-updated Barbarian class share a likeness.

Of course, that comes with the caveat that Batista doesn’t share a likeness with the other Diablo 2: Resurrected classes because he’s much more physically built than many of them, but it’s not even about the physical stature. Looking closely at the face, it’s apparent that many of the traits are similar.

Putting aside the unrelated facial markings and even the haircut (as Batista did not always shave his head), there’s the prominent eyebrows that catch attention. Well-defined, both the barbarian and Batista have a similar facial structure around the forehead and eyes. Many strong facial features can be found in both of them, and while the nose seems to be somewhat different, Batista typically kept a strong amount of stubble during his wrestling career. Not necessarily a unique feature, it’s also easy to see when looking at both of them. It’s not a 1:1 comparison, but it’s simple enough to look at the Diablo 2 barbarian and think of Batista. At the very least, it’s much easier to look at this character and think of Batista than it is to do with the WWE 2K20 version of the wrestler.

Of course, any perceivable likeness between the two is likely coincidental and depends on when someone is looking at Batista. In his early WWE career, it was far different and even more recent appearances aren’t as strong, but Batista at the height of his career is a dead looker for this Diablo 2 class. While it seems Batista will continue his acting career, perhaps and hopefully appearing in the often talked-about but likely non-existent Gears of War movie, having a role in the depiction in a class such as this seems unlikely.

Regardless, when Diablo 2: Resurrected eventually lands, players will be likely too involved in combat to think of this comparison. Batista may not be involved with this class whatsoever, but both are safe bets to win any fight.

Diablo 2: Resurrected is scheduled to release sometime in 2021 for the PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
