Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot has left fans in the dark regarding DLC 3 for the most part, but a new screenshot may be the first look at what it has to offer. Discovered by Dmgaming via a fan submission, these new screenshots from Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot show ten of the Z Fighters travelin through the Southeast Mountains area. What makes this so peculiar is not just the fact that there are so many characters on screen at once but also their outfits. Unfortunately, this screenshot doesn’t give anything to go off of when determining what the next DBZ: K DLC will be about, but it does give some insight in other areas.
The screenshots were found on the official Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour website, an upcoming event that will be attended by several Dragon Ball game producers. Though the timetable for this event doesn’t mention anything about Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, there are two screenshots towards the bottom of the page that are unmistakably from that game.
The first screenshot shows Goku with his house in the background. Judging by his posture, it seems as though he is riding on the Flying Nimbus, but it isn’t in the frame so there’s no way to be certain. This scene doesn’t help at all in determining what the next DLC will be, but it does give hope that it will likely be discussed during the event. The second image shows 10 different Z Fighters flying together: Goku, Gohan, Goten, Piccolo, Vegeta, Trunks (Kid), Krillin, Yamcha, Tien, and Chiaotzu.
Astute fans noticed something else strange about the shot, as the characters’ appearances don’t seem to match up. For example, looking closely it becomes clear that Gohan is wearing his Demon Gi, clothing that he only wore at the start of the Buu Saga Despite this, Krillin and Yamcha aren’t sporting their Buu Saga appearances and Goku is missing his halo. Future Trunks and Android 18 are the only playable characters missing from the photo, but this also doesn’t help place it in a specific time period.
Fans are going wild with speculation, but none of the theories have much weight behind them. Some think this could indicate some type of alternate timeline or “what-if” saga, while others feel like this is leading towards a Dragon Ball Z Broly DLC. Finally, the fact that there are ten fighters could indicate that this is a Tournament of Power team, but it would be odd for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot to exclude Frieza, Android 17, and Android 18 from that arc.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
