Fans of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War are no stranger to bugs, glitches, and general odd behaviors. Already, the game has a lengthy track record when it comes to reported bugs, many of which continue to plague the game including one that removes weapons and gear from players attempting to revive a teammate. Even with Season 2 now active, players have begun to see all sorts of new issues including crashes that bring gameplay to a complete halt.
For as bad and unfortunate as bugs can be, on occasion, a glitch can work in the player’s favor. Recently, players began reporting on a strange but rewarding issue that gave every player in a Call of Duty: Warzone match a win. In previous editions of Call of Duty, players could get their hands on a scorestreak involving attack dogs swarming the map going after enemy players. However, many players have noticed that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has no such scorestreak. That may be changing in a future update as a newly discovered bug changing a player’s home screen following the most recent season 2 update.
Over on the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War subreddit, a user known as showsterblob posted an image with a title indicating their confusion during an update had completed. While the update was in progress, the player’s home screen showed their character walking alongside a dog that looks very similar to Juno from Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Strangely enough, once the update completed, the home screen returned to normal, like nothing had happened.
If the dog was indeed Juno, many assumed the strange glitch was possibly a left over asset that somehow managed to find its way into the current game. Others commented that it could be foreshadowing for an upcoming finishing move similar to what the 2019 release, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, did post-launch after adding Talon to the game. As of right now, the strange appearance of the armored dog remains a tantalizing mystery for players.
Along with the Season 2 update, scorestreaks in general received a lot of changes and adjustments. Following the addition of the Death Machine, the Air Patrol, Attack Helicopter, and VTOL Escort were all lowered in cost to activate. The Counter Spy Plane was actually changed in the opposite way, making it slightly hard to earn increasing the cost by 200 points with an added cooldown time of 90 seconds in total. Treyarch also revealed a number of scorestreak bug fixes as well including the lock on issues for Cruise Missiles, Spy Planes and Jammer issues, and much more.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
