Blower GeForce RTX 3090 Graphics Cards Are Being Discontinued

Anyone who is in the market for a graphics card knows that the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 blower is one of the best. In most optimum high tier builds for gaming and video editing, 3090 blowers are present. Therefore, it may come as a shock that the 3090 model is being discontinued.

Last year, the price of decent graphics cards skyrocketed to an unprecedented high. COVID-19 has had many effects on the world that have not been isolated to public health, and the cost of GPUs is one of these. Enforced quarantine saw increased demand for gaming PC parts, inflating the price as scalpers pounced on the opportunity. This compounded with the new tariffs enforced on Chinese imports, and the 30XX series’ bitcoin mining capability to cause the overall price of GPUs to soar. Many settled for 20XX series components at a higher price, rather than wait out the restocking of 30XX GPUs. However, some opted to delay their graphics card purchase in the hopes of a newer model.

Now, the GeForce RTX 3090 blower has been discontinued, as has all graphics cards using it by extension. The reason for the removal is unknown, as no statement was made by NVIDIA about the deletion. Suddenly, all manufacturer retail pages that featured products using the blower mysteriously disappeared. Currently, no other 30XX series models show a pattern pointing to being discontinued. Those keen on the 3090 may want to look at purchasing the 3080 instead or alternatively, the previous generation’s 2080.

Mysteriously disappearing products are not rare in the tech world, and most of these go unnoticed. Usually, this is because the product is not notable enough for its discontinuation to be mentioned. The popularity of the 3090 is what makes this disappearance surprising. Still, there is no danger for consumers, if the product had been found unsafe, it would have been recalled. The removal could be due to Nvidia trying to direct purchases towards newer options. Alternatively, there may be difficulties obtaining the exact components necessary to manufacture the 3090 blowers.

Gamers who were waiting on the GeForce 3090 RTX to be restocked will no doubt be upset about the disappearance of this product. Some retailers still have the product available, for those who are desperate can purchase it, albeit at inflated prices. Time will tell whether Nvidia makes an official announcement about the discontinuing of the 3090 or not.

Those who made the decision to purchase an alternative graphics card can rest assured that they likely made the right choice.
