The leading gaming hardware tech company Razer just announced the first edition of the Razer DevCon. The event will be held on May 7 at 10:00 A.M. PT and will be streamed through Razer’s Twitch account. Razer DevCon will be four hours long and it will consist of a series of panels focused on technology topics that will center around Razer’s top products. The event will be held with the support of some of Razer’s biggest partners which include Activision Blizzard, Renaud Ostrowski (Vibe Avenue Studios Audio Artist), and Frank Rosay (iLLOGIKA’s Game Producer).
Razer has gained popularity due to its innovative high-end gaming hardware and designs. Razer offers a wide range of devices including gaming computers, headphones, and keyboards although it has become popular mostly for its gaming mice which are used by up to 5% of professional gamers. Razer is also characterized for offering a full lighting eco-system with its Chroma products.
The Razer DevCon is targeted at PC, console, and mobile developers who are encouraged to register early in order to receive one of the 1000 special packs. Registration is now open through Razer’s webpage. Razer is also offering additional prizes in the days to come so any interested developer can keep an eye out. The event will also be open to fans who are interested in knowing more about Razer’s products even if they are not developers, although the DevCon was tailored for people who work in game-making.
Razer DevCon panels will cover three of Razer’s main products: Razer Chroma, Razer Gold, and THX Spatial Audio. Razer Chroma panels will focus on teaching developers how to build a lighting system for games, websites, streams, and cloud platforms. Razer Gold panels will consist of tips about how to monetize games and apps. Finally, panels on THX Spatial Audio will cover how to create immersive audio for video games. The main goal of the event is to allow developers to familiarize themselves with the Razer products so they can use them and take advantage of them so that they can create more immersive gaming scenarios.
The Razer DevCon will be the first event of its kind and, due to the brand’s popularity, it is likely that the event will attract a lot of developers who have an interest in the gaming industry. Furthermore, Razer seems to be offering the opportunity for developers to network with some of the biggest specialists in the industry and to learn about the top-of-the-notch hardware that Razer offers.
