Warzone Fans Accuse Developers Of Recycling Old Maps In New Updates

A dedicated Call of Duty: Warzone fan noticed a change in the map that reverts back to a previous incarnation. After each season rotated, the map of Verdansk would change slightly to present the new content appropriately. One popular addition to Call of Duty: Warzone is the train which added several tunnels and tracks to the map, but one fan noticed those details missing after the last update.

While rumors of a major map change for Call of Duty: Warzone have been circulating for some time, it is still too early for anything to be noticeable on the in-game world map. Despite this, several details were missing that fans knew had been added in previous versions of the game. Quickly, one fan screenshotted the evidence and rushed to Reddit to share it with the game’s community.

Call of Duty: Warzone fan Billie-Turf shared a screenshot of Verdansk onto Reddit after they noticed something was off. Circled with a big red mark is a spot where there used to be a tunnel and train track intersecting the mountain. Instead, the Call of Duty: Warzone map reverted to before the train was added, and now the tunnel and track are both missing. Many fans noticed problems with the map when the new season launched, as some of the details seemed to be missing. While many players were unsure exactly what was wrong, this Call of Duty: Warzone fan’s post has brought light to a questionable situation.

Several other subtle changes have appeared across Verdnask, with players happily relaying them in the comments. Billie-Turn points out that the stairway in the hospital is gone, while another fan points out that the garage level is closed on Stadium. Many Call of Duty: Warzone fans noted that Season 2 seemed to be the moment that things have gone missing.

It is important to note that the train track and tunnel are still present within the game. This observation is regarding the map itself, although the developer did remove some content during the patch. Fans are now looking at a Call of Duty: Warzone map that is out of date, and many fans are not surprised at this developer oversight.

In a comedic response, the games community has begun referring to Raven Software as a “small indie development team.” Call of Duty: Warzone fans are joking that the development hiccups can not be helped due to the small scale, low money, and overall indie design of the team. While this is far from the truth, the community has taken this angle as opposed to getting angry at features they can not control.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
