The 10 Rarest Enemies In Bloodborne | Game Rant

The PlayStation 4 is home to some of the greatest exclusives of all time, with Bloodborne being one of the many reasons why PlayStation 4 ended up being one of the biggest winners of this console generation. It was clear that Miyazaki’s genius was on full display from the very second that players started a new game in Bloodborne, with this gothic-Lovecraftian tale being engrossing in every sense of the word.

Of course, it would be impossible to talk about Bloodborne without mentioning one of the major reasons why From Software games even became such massive hits, to begin with — its difficulty. Throughout Bloodborne, players will face off against several enemies that are bound to be quite challenging in their own right… although some of these foes don’t really appear all that frequently throughout the title. Keeping this in mind, here are ten of the rarest enemies one can encounter in Bloodborne.

10 Blood-Starved Beast

While one might wonder what a boss is doing in this list of normal enemies, the fact of the matter is that anyone who has either played The Old Hunters DLC or spent a ton of time in the Chalice Dungeons will know exactly why the Blood-Starved Beast has made an appearance here.

In the DLC, the Beast serves as a one-time minor challenge of sorts in order to obtain the Amygdalan Arm. Meanwhile, people who venture deep into the Chalice Dungeons will find this boss as a normal enemy over time as well… although his appearance is extremely rare.

9 Labyrinth Mole

The award for the rarest Bloodborne enemy of all time has to go to the Labyrinth Mole — a rather weak and unthreatening enemy who has a very low chance of spawning in a Chalice Dungeon.

The fact that this enemy was discovered a whopping two years after the game was released should be more than enough to prove just how much of a rare encounter this enemy really is.

8 Labyrinth Sage

There are a number of Bloodborne players who have never really tried to delve into the Chalice Dungeons a ton — a shame, since there are a number of unique enemies present in these stages.

One such enemy — the Labyrinth Sage — is easily one of the most horrifying enemies in the game, with his wail and erratic movements being nothing short of disturbing.

7 Beast-Possessed Soul

People who frequent the Chalice Dungeons will be more than aware of the Beast-Possessed Soul — a rather easy boss that frequents the easier Chalice Dungeons.

However, in the main game, there’s only one instance when players fight the Beast-Possessed Soul — namely, at the bottom of the Healing Workshop Tower, which will definitely scare a ton of unsuspecting players indeed.

6 Gravekeeper Scorpion

Another enemy present in the Chalice Dungeons that most people don’t even know of is the Gravekeeper Scorpion. An enemy with high defenses that can poison players with its attacks, players should definitely be on their toes when it comes to this foe.

While its damage is nothing to write home about, the high defense of the Gravekeeper Scorpion means that players need to slowly whittle away at its health while avoiding its poisonous attacks as well.

5 Mergo’s Chief Attendant

The Nightmare of Mensis is definitely one of the harder areas in Bloodborne, and players need to be on their toes at all times in this area — especially when it comes to battling Mergo’s Chief Attendant.

These enemies are fine on their own, but trying to fight them in a group can prove to be quite the challenge indeed. Thankfully, there are only three of these enemies scattered across the Nightmare of Mensis, which definitely serves as a major reassurance of sorts for most players.

4 Keeper’s Hunting Dog

The Keeper of the Old Lords is a boss that players encounter in the Chalice Dungeons… but this enemy can actually be encountered as a normal enemy in these dungeons over time as well.

The worst part about these regular encounters is that the Keeper is accompanied by a set of Hunting Dogs who will definitely rip the player apart unless they decide to adopt a strategy for this encounter.

3 Pilgrim

The Pilgrim might be classified as an enemy, but one wouldn’t even think that after looking at his behavior, which is anything but aggressive.

That being said, this Chalice Dungeon enemy does sport a counterattack that can cause a bit of damage after being hit once… but doesn’t really do anything to harm the player post this. Killing the Pilgrim becomes rather unnecessary as a result… and also somewhat cruel, to boot.

2 Labyrinth Ritekeeper

The Labyrinth Ritekeeper is easily one of the most deceptive enemies in the game. His overall stature looks weak and he goes down in a few hits if the player circles around him… but all this is a ruse to hide his immense attack power.

The fireballs that the Ritekeeper throws around hits like a freight train and can completely destroy a high-level character’s health bar in seconds, which can prove to be a rather rude — and totally unexpected — excursion from the Chalice Dungeon.

1 Large Nightmare Apostle

Spiders are the bane of most people’s existence, so it’s only a given that people might’ve been scared silly after seeing the group of spiders hanging out in the Nightmare of Mensis… right after they evade a bunch of annoying rock-throwing giants!

One particular spider in this area stands out for being massive… and also serves as the only time when this enemy appears in the game. Aside from this, these large Nightmare Apostles are rare spawns in the Chalice Dungeons.
