Warzone: Buffed Dragunov Kills Enemies With Two Chest Shots

Seasoned players know that the Dragunov has never been a good weapon in Call Of Duty, until now. The weapon was buffed several months ago, but it has flown under the radar in Warzone. Before the buff, players did not use the Dragunov because it was atrocious in every possible way. The gun had low damage, high recoil, and a small magazine. However, after the damage buff, the Dragunov is the only semi-automatic weapon in the game that is a two-shot kill to the chest.

The two-shot Dragunov is by no means the new meta in Warzone, but it is a viable weapon if used correctly. The weapon still has a significant amount of recoil, and players will need to have some practice to maximize the effectiveness of the weapon. No other semi-automatic weapon in Warzone is as powerful as the Dragunov. The weapon is extremely effective against opponents that are dropping in on buy-back quads or rebirth island because of its damage values. The Dragunov is a one-shot kill to the head if players only have two armor plates, which means players only need to hit one shot on a player parachuting in. Below is the class setup players should use to get the best out of the buffed sniper:

  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: 660mm Extended
  • Laser: Tac Laser
  • Optic: CronenC480 Pro
  • Stock: FTAC Hunter Scout

Players should use the Cronen C480 because it actually reduces visual recoil, and players will notice it in-game. If Players use the tac laser and FTAC stock, the Dragunov will have improved ADS, recoil, and aiming stability. One of the main issues with the Dragunov, even with the best attachments, is the gun’s vertical recoil. The weapon has an amazing time to kill if players are able to stabilize their aim after the first shot and get two consecutive hits. If players miss the second shot, the time to kill for the weapon will drop drastically. However, if players take their time and hit their shots, the Dragunov is actually viable in Warzone. At the fastest fire rate, players can two-shot enemies in less than 400 milliseconds.

Despite the apparent downsides to using the sniper, players should at least give the gun a chance in plunder to see if they like it. While it may have a situational and niche role in Warzone, the gun will erase enemies if players are able to hit their shots.
