As players are exploring the area northeast of Savalon in Bravely Default 2, they may come across an Abandoned Mansion that is tucked away by the water. This building is connected to one of the game’s side quests, and indeed fans will need to have started it before they can enter the dungeon. Providing details on that side quest, and where it can be obtained, is the exact purpose of this guide, and players that read on should have no trouble getting inside Bravely Default 2‘s Abandoned Mansion.
To get right to it, fans that want to enter the Abandoned Mansion will need to initiate the Rich Pickings side quest with the Troubled Father in the Casino of Savalon. Notably, this is the same location where players can unlock the Gambler Job in Bravely Default 2, and the relevant NPC can be found standing near the bar on the left. However, the Troubled Father will not offer Rich Pickings until after the Water Crystal has been recovered, and fans should thus focus on obtaining that item first.
Once a player has started this Bravely Default 2 side quest, they will then be able to enter the Abandoned Mansion simply by interacting with it. They will then need to make their way through the building’s twisting corridors, and it is recommended that fans use the quest marker to guide their exploration. Ultimately, this marker will lead players to a boss, who packs quite a punch indeed, that must be defeated in order to progress Rich Pickings.
With the boss slain, JRPG fans are now free to exit the Abandoned Mansion, return to the Troubled Father in Savalon, complete the side quest, and collect their reward. As per Rich Pickings’ description, that reward is five Small JP Orbs, which is sure to be of interest to those players that are looking to level up their Jobs. While it is true that these Orbs alone will not be enough to unlock a Job’s most-powerful abilities, every bit of JP certainly helps.
After completing Rich Pickings, players may want to start working on another side quest that can be found just north of Savalon. Specifically, this additional side quest is called Human’s Best Friend: Part II, and fans can pick it up from Truff next to the bridge on the path to Wiswald. For those players that are curious, completing this quest will give them the ability to cut down trees and finally access the last chest in Hydrangea Hills.
