Call of Duty Mobile developer TiMi Studios consistently interacts with fans of the game, regularly asking what they would like to see in the portable FPS. A new survey keeps this tradition alive, and intriguingly, it hints at Call of Duty Mobile fans possibly getting access to Verdansk.
Call of Duty Mobile and the addition of fan-favorite maps go hand in hand, as this style has played a major role in the game’s success. While new maps like Reclaim are occasionally added, much of the game’s content is made up of remasters from old Call of Duty games. Classics like Firing Range and Terminal are present in the game, while fresher maps like Hackney Yard have also made their way over to the mobile game.
Based on a recent survey, it sounds like another popular map could be coming to Call of Duty Mobile, and it is none other than Verdansk from Call of Duty: Warzone. The survey question was tweeted out by @ModernWarzone, a source that has proven to be a reputable leaker for Call of Duty news in the past. Asking players what additions to the game they would like to see next, the survey provides an option for “new battle royale maps.” Some of the examples used are Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Blackout map and, intriguingly, Verdansk.
This is some interesting timing, as Verdansk is rumored to be leaving Call of Duty: Warzone very soon. With a nuke set to destroy the map while simultaneously providing players with a new area to play in, Verdansk being removed is a risk. While some players may miss the map, it sounds like there is a chance it can live on through Call of Duty Mobile. While it is by no means confirmed to be coming, the use of Verdansk as an example implies that it could if enough fans show interest.
With Call of Duty Mobile’s player base showing a fondness for multiplayer remasters, it makes sense that ports of battle royale maps would be under consideration as well. Though many have grown to love Verdansk, as the fictional Russian country has been a huge part of one of the biggest battle royale game’s DNA, it would be interesting to see what TiMi Studios does with the current battle royale map. A full original play space that Call of Duty Mobile fans have mastered, finding some useful tricks to gain an advantage, some may not want to see the location abandoned.
With Call of Duty Mobile set to remix Shipment in Season 2, as well as provide new weapons, fans already know what they will be seeing in the near future. However, this survey may have provided some insight into what could be coming further down the road as well.
Call of Duty Mobile is available now on Android and iOS mobile devices.
