Incredible PS5, Xbox Series X Batman Skins Entering Production

Batman as a figure in pop culture cannot be denied. Since he came into being in May of 1939 in Detective Comics issue no. 27, Batman has continued to grow in popularity and is even a mainstay in gaming now as well. Recently, a designer created a beautiful Batman console skin for the next-gen consoles, and the product was just sent into production.

Designer @POPeART_ has created a set of Batman console skins for the PS5 and Xbox Series X, and they are rather stunning. From the controller to the console itself, the design captures the intensity of Batman with a very appealing style.

POPE had conceptualized this Batman next-gen console skin design last year, and now it seems to be coming to fruition. The designer’s idea caught some steam on social media back in August and now seven months later the same concept has entered production, which is rather exciting.

In the world of video games, Batman has gone dark for the last few years. The beloved Batman: Arkham series–specifically the trilogy from Rocksteady–helped comic book and superhero video games transition into true AAA experiences as opposed to often-sloppy licensed shovelware titles. But since then, The World’s Greatest Detective has gone on a bit of a hiatus in some ways. However, games that have a strong connection to the Caped Crusader are on the way soon.

Batman: Arkham Knight released in 2015, nearly six years ago. Rocksteady’s next game follows a misfit crew as opposed to the defender of Gotham, but fans should not expect to hear news about Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League any time too soon. Although Rocksteady is making it, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League looks like a very different game from the Batman: Arkham Games. However, any other upcoming titles developed by a different developer may feel more like a spiritual successor to the Arkham titles.

From the gameplay that has been shown so far of WB Montreal’s new game, Gotham Knights looks to have a very similar style in terms of combat, visual aesthetics, and more to the Arkham series. So even though Batman is not yet confirmed to be in the game, it stars many of his famous sidekicks over the years, including Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing, and Red Hood. The hope is that Gotham Knights is still on track for 2021 and perhaps that would be the first Batman-themed game that players who pick up this Batman console skin can enjoy.
