While intently waiting on news about DLC 3 for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, fans are combing through the few glimpses they have received from some leaked screenshots. These leaked Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot screenshots may hint at DLC 3 content, but fans have yet to put a pin on exactly what will make it into the next expansion and when it will release. To further complicate things, a short clip from today’s Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour event seems to provide a fresh look at the old screenshots while providing new ones and teasing some kind of “World Flight” mode.
Today’s Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour is a global live-stream online event that lasts for 12 hours, and it’s completely dedicated to everything Dragon Ball. The very first online Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour event will showcase some tournament battles for games like Dragon Ball FighterZ and the Dragon Ball Super Card Game, as well as give fans the opportunity to talk with other Dragon Ball enthusiasts in the Online Arena lobby. A hype trailer for today’s event encompasses everything going on and includes a sneak peak at the potential DLC for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.
The portion of the trailer that has Kakarot fans excited is barely two seconds long, but the key information is the “World Flight” descriptor in the bottom left hand corner. A quick shot of Great Ape Vegeta in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is followed by several characters flying through the air at him, but then the trailer cuts to footage of a different game. For fans who have kept up with the Kakarot screenshot leaks, there are some interesting differences.
First of all, most of the characters present in the previously leaked group screenshot are present here in new one, with almost identical positioning. However, there is one less character in the new group shot than the old one, and most of them are wearing different outfits. There have already been speculations that the flying group are possible members of the Tournament of Power team from the Dragon Ball Super anime, but the new group shot members still don’t fit the bill exactly.
After seeing the “World Flight” footage, fans are speculating that this could be a new mode for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot that offers free roam with any character, or an online mode. The old screenshots have already sparked thoughts about a Dragon Ball Z Broly DLC, and there’s not enough in the two second video to confirm or deny any theories. Today’s Battle Hour probably holds the key to deciphering this footage, so fans should join one of the five live-stream channels for the event to find out.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
