Famous streamer and popular music artist Corpse Husband has reached a new level of popularity, as he is now currently emblazoned on a billboard in one of the most coveted advertising spots in the world: Times Square in New York City.
Corpse Husband has been around for a few years, having started his career on YouTube in 2016 narrating horror stories with his particularly deep voice. His popularity skyrocketed last year when Corpse Husband began streaming Among Us, and he was a part of congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Among Us stream, helping her encourage US citizens to vote in the 2020 election. He compounded that success by releasing his own music, and his number one song “E-GIRLS ARE RUINING MY LIFE” broke over 100,000,000 streams on Spotify.
“E-GIRLS ARE RUINING MY LIFE” is also now the subject of an advertisement at the center of Times Square. As for how Corpse secured advertising space in one of the busiest places on Earth, British athletic apparel brand Gymshark held a contest on Twitter where whichever reply had the most likes would be displayed on a billboard in Times Square. Corpse Husband’s fans came through, liking his tweet telling people to stream “E-GIRLS ARE RUINING MY LIFE” more than half a million times as of this writing.
Some fans went to Times Square to see Corpse Husband’s billboard ad, and shared their excitement over it on Twitter. Aside from earning him this billboard in Times Square, the degree of love Corpse Husband fans have for him has also been seen in a tattoo one fan got of the audio waveform of Corpse Husband’s breath.
Corpse Husband also frequently receives words of love and support following the reveal he has a series of chronic and severe illnesses that may necessitate him to stop streaming. Corpse suffers from thoracic outlet syndrome, a condition in which a compression of nerves can cause one’s arm and hand to go numb, which is a potentially crippling condition for a video game streamer. Still, Corpse maintains that he will continue his music career and go back to narrating horror stories if he can no longer stream.
Corpse also recently talked about whether or not he would ever reveal what his real face looks like to his fans. Corpse Husband feels it might be best if he does not reveal his face, because he believes a lot of fans with pre-conceived notions of what he might look like could be potentially disappointed. He said, “It’s like you’re going to let down a lot of people at once, and I’d rather not do that.”
