Hypercharge: Unboxed Update Adds Bots, Third Person Camera

Hypercharge: Unboxed players can get excited about a big update that dropped this week. This update includes a massive amount of improvements, bug fixes, and optimizations as well as some new ways to enjoy the first-person shooter with tower defense mechanics. Players can now gun down enemy toys with bots at their side or switch up their field of vision and experience Hypercharge: Unboxed as a third-person shooter.

In Hypercharge: Unboxed players will take control of an action figure and defend bedrooms, bathrooms, and a bunch of other household areas against enemy forces. The game is designed with multiplayer in mind, offering online co-op, PvP, as well as split-screen for up to four players. Friends can now mow down toy zombies just like “real” zombies in split-screen mode for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The new update also gives some love to players going solo, with helpful bots to fill out a defense team.

The patch notes for this Hypercharge: Unboxed update is pretty large and covers nearly every part of the game. The visuals will now look better on the Nintendo Switch with improved effects for electricity and radar, muzzle flashes, and more. There is also a list of bug fixes a mile long that among other things gives enemies a bit more mobility and keeps players from getting stuck in certain places on maps.

In addition, the game gets some brand new rules and options in PvP mode. Players can now choose their weapon attachments and can alter which weapons spawn in for a chosen map. While battling it out in PvP some players might want to switch up the soundtrack to make the fighting feel more intense, and now they can change between the 20+ soundtracks in Hypercharge: Unboxed mid-game.

Developer Digital Cybercherries has clearly put a lot of work into this update and it bodes well for the future of Hypercharge: Unboxed. Versions of the game for the Xbox One and PS4 are reportedly in the works, so interested gamers who don’t have a Switch can look forward to that.

Hypercharge: Unboxed is available now the Nintendo Switch.
