The now-famous “Agatha All Along” scene has taken the internet by storm ever since the tune first appeared at the end of the seventh episode of the hit Disney Plus series WandaVision. Fans have been simply obsessed with the song, creating remixes and a lot of dancing Tik Tok videos, helping to place the song at the top of the charts on iTunes. Now, you can see it in everyone’s favorite pandemic video game: Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
At the end of the seventh episode of WandaVision, it was revealed that Agatha Harkness has secretly been pulling the strings in Wanda Maximoff’s reality-altering New Jersey suburban fantasy. Fans had long suspected that Agnes, the Westview resident and quirky neighbor to Wanda, was actually the powerful Marvel Comics witch. In the comics, Agatha is a mentor to Wanda Maximoff, a.k.a. the Scarlet Witch, having lived for hundreds of years and even being present during the Salem witch trials, which was also depicted on the show.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons was easily one of the most popular games of 2020. When it was released for Nintendo Switch in March 2020, it quickly became the best-selling game of the month and the second best-selling game of the year. With a 90/100 Metacritic score, it also garnered many positive reviews from publications.
The game couldn’t have come at a better time: at the beginning of a global pandemic. New Horizons is the latest in the Animal Crossing series, a social simulation game that allows players to create an adorable avatar and experience what life would be like on an island populated by anthropomorphic animals. With so many stuck inside during quarantine and endless lockdowns, players had more time than ever to work on their islands and visit other players in the real-time game.
The video, uploaded to the YouTube channel Great-Bit Arcade, shows the “Agatha All Along” sequence completely recreated using the latest Animal Crossing game. It shows incredible attention to detail, as it mimics every shot from the sequence, including appropriate facial expressions and reactions.
This isn’t the first time fans have recreated famous scenes from movies and TV shows using video games. Recently, a fan redid the entire opening scene from Pixar’s Up in The Sims 4. In a funny reversal of this concept, two of the voice actors from Grand Theft Auto V actually recreated a famous scene between their characters in live-action.
You can watch every episode of season one of WandaVision streaming on Disney Plus now.
