Yakuza: Like a Dragon (PS5)
Staff Pick
Yakuza: Like a Dragon released earlier this year on previous generation consoles, but March marks the release of the game for the PS5, and fans couldn’t be any happier. The latest entry in the Yakuza franchise, Like a Dragon, tells the story of new protagonist Ichiban Kasuga, as he attempts to become a hero and uncover the reason for a betrayal that landed him in prison for 18 years.

Maquette
A new title releasing this month, Maquette is a first-person “recursive puzzle” game, where players must tilt and move tiny, diorama versions of their real-life surroundings to figure out how to proceed. Better yet, Maquette’s PS5 version will be free this month as part of PlayStation Plus’ monthly selections of free titles.

It’s important to note that some of the releases planned this month for next-gen consoles are just upgrades of current-gen games. Certain titles are getting upgrades to take advantage of the newer systems, so if you own these games already, you don’t have to worry about buying any new copies.
What are you playing?
Generally, the first couple of months are a bit slow when it comes to video game releases, and March is no different. For fans who were waiting for the next-generation release, Yakuza: Like a Dragon is out now, giving players a great chance to experience one of the best games of the year.
Outside of Yakuza: Like a Dragon, the only big games releasing this month are relatively small titles like It Takes Two and Maquette, although they do seem like incredibly fun games nonetheless. Maquette especially should be an enjoyable experience, and with it being free for PlayStation Plus subscribers who also own a PS5, it’s the perfect game to pick up and try out on your new console.
