Stardew Valley: Vincent Gift Guide | Game Rant

Befriending the Stardew Valley villager Vincent up to a certain Heart Level can lead to a special cutscene and increased profit output. Here are the best and worst gifts to give Vincent that will influence his relationship with the farmer.

Friendships and relationships are one of the biggest draws of Stardew Valley, though they operate a bit differently than in the farming sims it’s inspired by. Rather than being able to give villagers 1 gift every day, they can only receive 2 gifts every week, except for birthday gifts. Each character has gifts they love, like, dislike, hate, and feel neutrally towards. And while it’s obvious to most players that giving villagers gifts they dislike will decay their friendship levels, this can also be done by not talking to them each day or if they see the player rummaging through the trash.

By far, the easiest and most effective gifts to give Vincent are Grapes and Snails, but Snails are more readily available year-round, especially during Year 1 in Stardew Valley. Grapes become available for foraging throughout the Summer, but during the Fall they can be farmed, so gather a large amount during the Summer season and give them to Vincent as the weeks go by.

Snails are available year-round by using a Crab Pot, but players also may not have access to this early on as it requires Fishing Level 3 in Stardew Valley. To catch a Snail, the Crab Pot must be placed in a freshwater location, which can be found on most farm layouts.

Vincent also loves the gifts Cranberry Candy, a cooked dish using a recipe only obtainable from The Queen of Sauce, Ginger Ale, a cooked drink using a recipe found on Ginger Island, and Pink Cake, a cooked dish also made from The Queen of Sauce recipes. However, Pink Cake can also be obtained by completing the Chef’s Bundle, purchased from the Stardrop Saloon, or dropped by Big Slimes in the Skull Cavern.

But there are many liked gifts that Vincent can be gifted in lieu of the loved ones, such as Coconuts and Daffodils, and most universally liked Stardew Valley gifts such as Honey and Jellies. The player should never gift Vincent with Clay, Pina Coladas, Triple Shot Espressos, or Wild Horseradishes as he hates them.

If players are able to get Vincent up to Heart Level 8 in Stardew Valley as well as Jas, an event will occur in Cindersap Forest in the Spring where Vincent will explain how to clean Spring Onions, giving the player a permanent increase to the selling price of Spring Onions.

Stardew Valley is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
