Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies Players Notice Interesting Tombstone Detail

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies fans have had access to the Tombstone perk for a month now, as it made its debut alongside Firebase Z. Despite spending all that time with Tombstone, though, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans have just now noticed an interesting detail with its container.

While the detail in question may give fans some more appreciation for the perk, Tombstone has certainly had a rough road thus far. Though the addition of perk tiers has seen its functionality combined with that of Who’s Who, essentially making it a better perk, the launch of Firebase Z saw Tombstone being entirely broken. This led to the perk getting a negative reputation amongst players, and while Tombstone has since been fixed, some fans will likely be harder to win over regarding its inclusion.

It would be hard for even the biggest Tombstone hater to not appreciate the level of detail on the can, however. In Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s Outbreak game mode, players can be given perks from random crate drops as well as the hunting party side quests. It is crates, however, that have allowed this new detail to be seen. Previously, players grabbed the perk can straight from the machine, drinking it quickly before tossing it away. This animation never allowed players to get a proper look at the can, something that meant all the detail on the back was missed.

Fortunately, Outbreak mode now sees Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s perks landing on the floor, allowing players to zoom in on the dropped items by going prone close by. As shown by Redditor Wooliestkey5654, there is plenty to see on the can, including nutrition facts. An impressive 40 grams of protein are found in each drink, while 100% of the drink qualifies as carbs. While this is a fun and interesting touch made by Treyarch, it is outdone by the ingredients section.

Tombstone’s ingredients include “chalk suspension,” something that serves as a callback to the controversial map TranZit from Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. As pointed out by the appropriately named Redditor TranzitIsGood, the playable character Stuhlinger said that Tombstone tastes like chalk when drinking the original version of the perk. The other ingredients keep up the theme, with embalming fluid and perk essence joining with “duplicated spirits” to create the perk’s special ghost revive effect.

While it is nice to see the Tombstone perk getting this extra attention to detail, it may not be the only perk that gets this level of love. Now that this detail is known about, interested Zombies fans should check the other perk cans for special ingredients when they drop as well.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
