Call of Duty Mobile is gearing up for Season 2, with a huge chunk of the new content set to arrive tomorrow. Later in the season, Call of Duty Mobile players will have access to new game modes, with the two new playlists offering some unique twists.
Aside from these new modes, Call of Duty Mobile players will be getting access to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Season 5 weapons. Both the AS Val and SP-R208 will be making their debut on March 10, while the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare character Alex will be making a debut inside the portable FPS. Continuing the theme of Modern Warfare-inspired content, players will be getting access to Shoot House and Shipment as well.
With Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s only major contribution to the Season being the addition of the Napalm Strike scorestreak, a vast majority of this season’s content is based on the 2019 Call of Duty game. However, one of the two new game modes is a fully original idea, as Call of Duty Mobile’s upcoming Tank Battle sounds like it is a one of a kind. Tied to the battle royale playlist, players will be seeing plenty of the armored vehicles if they choose the Tank Battle option.
Though details are scarce, the patch notes suggest that the goal of the game mode is similar to that of a traditional battle royale mode, with players needing to survive until they are the last one standing. The key difference will be that players can loot tank pieces, calling in one of the vehicles when they have enough to build it. With enemy players armed with rocket launchers, however, it seems like this mode will be truly chaotic. As of now, it is unknown if these player-made tanks will show off vehicle skins that Call of Duty Mobile fans have collected. The mode will be active from March 19 to March 25.
Call of Duty Mobile’s second Season 2 game mode is a bit more by the books, with similar variants appearing in recent Call of Duty games. Call of Duty Mobile’s recently added 3v3 Gunfight mode will be getting a Snipers Only variant, with all the current Gunfight maps active in the rotation. Gunfight Sniper will play exactly like one would expect, with the mode switching between different rifles every round. It will be active between March 26 and May 1, giving it a much longer life cycle than Tank Battle.
With the remixed version of Shipment playable inside Gunfight Sniper, players should get to experience the map plenty throughout Season 2. For those more interested in the concept of Tank Battle, though, jumping in on March 19 will be a must, as the mode will not be around for long.
Call of Duty Mobile is available now on Android and iOS mobile devices.
