Gnosia: Tips and Tricks | Game Rant

Gnosia is a visual novel that takes the basic tendencies of Among Us and gives it added depth that provides a more fleshed-out experience. Gnosia is about a crew that’s stuck in a drifting spaceship deep within the void of space that is experiencing odd occurrences. There’s an alien threat called the “Gnosia” that has shape-shifting powers. Players will need to investigate the suspects and decide who the most suspicious among them will be put into a “cold sleep.” This is a game that partakes in the mechanics of the social deduction RPG sub-genre and it takes some time to unravel the mystery.

There are certain tips and tricks to keep in mind when it comes to successfully playing Gnosia. There’s definitely some trial and error involved, just like in any other imposter game, and new players have a lot to learn.

The game takes place in small segments that are basically time loops. They last around 10-15 minutes in duration and each completed time loop pushes the story forward. After this is done up to 12 times, players will be able to take on roles such as engineers, crewmates, guardian angels, or even the Gnosia itself. After the twelfth time loop, the menu will update itself and players can choose their new role, how many NPCs to use, and other customizations.

The game encourages players to play around with the settings and experiment with different roles. Also, it’s worth noting that if there are 2 simultaneous unique events happening during the night, just focus on going to one event. The other event will most likely show up the next night. Visiting people during the night tends to help with gathering more clues. Also, always check the map and look for a “red exclamation mark.” This is a good indicator that there’s valuable information in that area that will be added to your data log that could be useful later on.

After each time loop, players will accumulate points in which they can use to upgrade their character. The most useful skill to invest in would be “Logic.” This helps filter through information and have characters believe the player when they try to explain themselves.

Without a higher “Logic” level, the NPCs will not want to listen to the player and this can make things more difficult to progress. The key is the talk to all the characters as much as possible and makes a conscious decision on what to do in each voting round. The entire point of the imposter sub-genre is to be observant and Gnosia is no different.

Lastly, Gnosia isn’t a game in which every round can be won since this genre takes time to figure out. Players are going to lose and even vote on the wrong people during time loops. If a player sees a time loop going sour, it’s best to go ahead and play it out and collect the points. The core of Gnosia is experimentation and sometimes that requires failure to learn something new. Of course, players can always reset the round, but it’s advised to always finish what was started for the sake of story progression.

Gnosia is available on Nintendo Switch.
