Persona 5 Strikers: Every Character Ranked Worst To Best

Except for Goro Akechi, who is presumed dead at the end of Persona 5, every playable character in the original cast returns for Strikers. Futaba is only the navigation specialist so she is still not ready for battle, unfortunately. To make up for both her and Akechi, two new characters were added to the story.

The first is a mysterious AI, Sophia, that the Phantom Thieves uncover in a new dungeon set up in the Metaverse. The other is another detective, but this time an adult, in the form of Zenkichi Hasegawa. Of the nine playable characters, who is the best?

9 Haru Okumura

Haru wields the Persona of Milady. Her specialty is heavy weaponry, via an axe, along with psychokinetic powers. Her animation is pretty funny as she drags her axe on the ground almost like Pyramid Head from Silent Hill 2.

While she is strong, because of this axe dragging, Haru is pretty slow as well. She is therefore a tad more unwieldy compared to her faster and more well-balanced teammates in this game.

8 Ryuji Sakamoto

Ryuji wields the Persona of Captain Kidd. His specialty is a bat, also a heavy weapon, along with electric elemental powers. Like Haru, Ryuji is a heavy hitter. His gun is a shotgun meaning his range is wide, but not as far-reaching.

Even with these handicaps, Ryuji is slightly better than Haru as his speed is upped if only slightly. His special ability is also more devastating in a wider area of effect.

7 Yusuke Kitagawa

Yusuke wields the Persona of Goemon. His specialty is a katana, along with ice elemental powers. In the original game, it seems like he is built like a fast ninja, but he seems slower here. His blade speed is closer to that of Haru and Ryuji.

Yusuke’s strong attack is also not that useful as he sheathes his sword, unleashing it for a heavy attack once charged. It’s a powerful strike but it leaves him pretty vulnerable too.

6 Morgana

Morgana wields the Persona of Zorro. His specialty is a sword, along with wind elemental powers. Opposite of the previous three, Morgana is fast like his element, the wind. He is reminiscent of how Yoda is shown to fight in the prequel Star Wars movies.

Morgana’s agility on the battlefield, and in the overall world, is appreciated, but his size can be a visual problem. Another plus in his favor, though, is that he is able to transform into a bus for lethal damage; furthermore, Morgana can use healing magic.

5 Ann Takamaki

Ann wields the Persona of Carmen. Her specialty is a whip, along with fire elemental powers. The whip is a fairly slow weapon, almost as much as Haru or Ryuji. She’s like a dominatrix Belmont from Castlevania.

However, what makes Ann a better character to fight with is that this whip has a far reach. This is both true for distanced attacks along with wider arcs for area effects. Her healing magic, while only singular in use, is also something not to dismiss.

4 Sophia

Sophia wields the Persona of Pandora. Her specialty is a yo-yo, along with holy powers. She is like a combination of Morgana and Ann. She has Morgana’s agility and Ann’s whip-like area of effect with her yo-yos.

Since Sophia is more agile though, it’s easier to get in and out of monster-infested areas without receiving damage. As one of the new party members for this series, she is a lot of fun to mess around with in Strikers. Sophia’s healing magic is great and a lot of monsters are weak to her type of element too.

3 Zenkichi Hasegawa

Zenkichi wields the Persona of Valjean. His specialty is a great sword and he has no specific elemental powers. In fact, his magic is non-elemental so it can hit creatures equally. That’s a double-edged sword though since he cannot weaken enemies unless they are weak to bullets.

That’s okay, though, because despite him having what looks like a heavy weapon, Zenkichi is actually quite fast with it. It’s strong too, plus he can sacrifice HP in order to get more powerful. He is like the great demon hunter Dante from Devil May Cry, in terms of both looks and power types. He is another great addition to the team.

2 Makoto Niijima

Makoto wields the Persona of Johanna. Her specialty is her own fists, along with nuclear powers. She is the full package. She has healing powers, her attack strength is outstanding, she’s fast on her feet, and she too can ride around on wheels like Morgana.

Controlling Makoto is just as fun as using Tifa in Final Fantasy VII Remake. Plus she is the best girl in terms of romantic partners from the first game. The only thing really holding Makoto back is what the best character has.

1 Joker

Joker wields the Persona of Arsène. His specialty is a dagger, along with infinite powers. While his weapon strength and speed are average, what makes Joker the best should be obvious. He is like the Pokemon Master of catching Personas.

This allows Joker to wield every elemental power all at once, making the other members almost seem inconsequential at times. If there is an element that needs to be used, it’s best to give it to Joker. He is the wild card of the Phantom Thieves along with their leader for good reason.
